If Arizona was my only vacation option I’d go to Sedona.
We went there too. I think I put about 2,000 miles on my rental car in a week. Did one of those off-road tour things. Pretty cool. Actually probably better than Grand Canyon overall.

Unless you like skiing or are an ice road trucker ;););)

I took the train across Canada one year in the winter. (I left Disney world and ended up in Disneyland on that trip... explaining that route to border control agents was interesting). - I was amazed at how much of Canada really is just snow and ice for the winter. We get snow in the USA of course... but not like the Canadian prairie!

I believe 90% of our population lives within 100 miles of the border. That might help contextualize it for you a bit more about why we are particularly well versed

Definitely you are correct. There is a certain notoriety up here about American’s ignorance of world politics. It has sustained a few different Canadian comedy routines And TV segments. Jimmy Kimmel is the American equivalent asking people on the street seemingly basic questions.

For better or worse there is a major discrepancy about how knowledgeable an average American is / the importance of the rest of the world. That isn’t shared by the other G7 countries at least.

To @legwand77 Florida is usually the most or second most visited state by Canadians. Despite being nowhere close to a border. Granted there are snowbirds. But we’re like Japan in terms of being strangely Disney indoctrinated.
This is very true. I’m impressed with how much Europeans keep up with U.S politics. I was on a tour in Ireland in September and the tour guide spent more time talking about the effects of the US corporate tax cuts and Trump than she did about Ireland. I’ve done a lot of traveling so I’m completely ignorant, but I’ll admit I don’t spend a lot of time keeping up with what goes on outside of this country.

With the 'double' counting some cases going on I honestly expected it to go up like it has been. For it to drop with double counting pretty good news.

ETA correction - the "double" counting was just for a specific graph that was shared a few posts back on the Florida DOH site.

Wait what ??? Double counting???
Florida DOH literally says that on their site. If someone tests positive over multiple days each positive test is counted as a new case as long as it is not on the same day.

People tested on multiple days will be included for each day a new result was received.

as an exa,ple Test posivtive , test negative and then test positive, that is two new cases for one person. If you are in the hospital getting treatment with Remdesivir, some are tested every day for 5 days while the treatment runs

Looks like some stage shows in the theme parks are directly impacted by covid.
It’s interesting. Stage shows for the most part at Universal have resumed. Namely the Horror Makeup Show and the stage shows in the HP lands. They are wearing masks, though I can understand Disney not wanting to have Belle up on stage in a mask. A random HP singer is one thing, an iconic Disney character is another.

I know there’s a lot of stuff to do in Canada I’ve vacationed there four times. I was just curious why a Canadian couldn’t find a vacation replacement in their own country.
I was the flip side if that argument for about 3 years. I lived a 5 minute drive from the border in western NY. Between the choice of spending my leisure time in the richest, most developed region of Canada vs. the depressing rust belt of NY state, I mostly chose the former.

Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that, but it makes sense.

It's this one graph, if you read the details in the PDF. The poster is conflating the two. I don't even think this is put on the dashboard.

I can't see the scantily clad Mermaid in the DHS stage show wearing a mask.

Disney allegedly requested the return for live performers (Finding Nemo, Beauty and the Beast, and other on-stage Equity performances). Disney requested that performers not wear masks, with the idea that they would be far enough away from guests. After push back from Cast Members in shows via their union representatives, Disney has rescinded their recalling of live performers. Understandably so, most performers do not feel comfortable performing partnered dances, as well as exhaling and sweating in close proximity with one another.

The only confirmed live performance experience that I know of is Voices of Liberty. (A few friends have received full-time performance offers for the upcoming park opening.) With strategic scheduling and utilization of the second floor for guest and Cast Member safety, this is the only current live performance offering that I know being discussed.

Again, the above information is specific to those performances that abide by the Actors Equity Association guidelines.

I was responding to this, if true. Disney doesn’t want them in masks, and the union does.
