Photo update as of Monday, June 25, 2018. Structural steel going in at the restaurant in the center of the lake. The high rise tower under construction is in the background. Note the boardwalk widens halfway out for those who want to "hang out." The boardwalk has been covered with temporary plywood sheets for construction equipment.

Another boardwalk "platform" at the other end.

New decorations are being added to the repainted dome over the lobby. The two images on the right still have the paper stencil attached.

The columns at the marina building have been repainted to match those at the entrance porte cochere.

The 15th floor of the high rise overlooking the porte cochere.

The expanded parking lot beyond the original lobby porte cochere is almost finished. Landscaping is going in, and parking space striping is outlined. This area used to be a retention pond.

Very beefy looking concrete supports and walls on that new hotel tower.

I apologize if this was already discussed, but what is the scope of the pool refurbishment? Are considerations being made for the capacity added by the tower?

In general, how will the new capacity of the resort impact amenities like the pool and dining areas? Will the tower have dedicated dining options (I don't really count ? And it does not seem to add any pool capacity while adding 500 rooms.

Repainting the exterior of the lobby dome is complete.

Gosh I hope you're wrong too! Coronado has been our resort of choice for our last 5 or 6 trips. We were able to score it for $160/night recently. It's a great value, and I'll be sad to see the (inevitable) price increases.

If you put any faith in Jim/Len, they are saying this tower will be aimed at a higher price point while the other rooms remain as is. Letting a company hold a convention, and have the execs/potential clients stay in fancy rooms right next to the convention center while the workers stay further away in a normal room.

As God intended.

That’s sort of how it works when we go to a convention a couple hours away from my office. Most employees drive out and back on the same day. Higher level employees like myself stay at the suites in the convention hotel and the one main executive that attends either stays at the more luxurious hotel down the road or drives home depending on his schedule.

So it's called Villa on/of the Lake Lakeside Lounge/Restaurant? They may as well tack on...."a place you can hang out and eat" at the end of the name, too. I find it so odd/disappointing that everything has to have restaurant in the name now. It's not even "lakeside"...it's sitting IN the lake.
