If I was someone who judges overall quality and area impact by unfinished construction projects, I'd have to agree with you.

This is my home resort and I am not happy with this. However, it is happening. I have no choice but to pound sand and hope that it is beautiful [which I don't think is in doubt] and then more importantly hope it is affordable [certainly up for debate].

I can't imagine once this construction is done that we will get Coronado for $150 / night anymore. I hope I'm wrong! The only change that is going to matter to anyone is our beloved $150 / night Coronado is going to be $250 / night + parking fees. This is the only feeling I had staying here this week. The room remodels is the same contemporary style they are doing at Pop. I suppose Poly will be next. There are no new amenities or changes planned to match the price increases.
My understanding is that at least part of the Tower is going to be Club/Concierge level so the pricing will definitely be higher. I am excited to see if this is truly a more deluxe experience at a moderate (relatively speaking) pricing. Marie

Gosh I hope you're wrong too! Coronado has been our resort of choice for our last 5 or 6 trips. We were able to score it for $160/night recently. It's a great value, and I'll be sad to see the (inevitable) price increases.

Well Port Orleans / Riverside was well over $200 a night. I don't think room prices gets enough attention in the "news." It's much harder to track, since it's more to do with availability and those numbers are secret. No one should be paying rack rate ever.

I dont think we will see mods under 180 in the very near future... Unless there is another recession

Photo update as of Monday, June 25, 2018. Structural steel going in at the restaurant in the center of the lake. The high rise tower under construction is in the background. Note the boardwalk widens halfway out for those who want to "hang out." The boardwalk has been covered with temporary plywood sheets for construction equipment.

New decorations are being added to the repainted dome over the lobby. The two images on the right still have the paper stencil attached.

The columns at the marina building have been repainted to match those at the entrance porte cochere.

The expanded parking lot beyond the original lobby porte cochere is almost finished. Landscaping is going in, and parking space striping is outlined. This area used to be a retention pond.
