EDIT: food colloquially known to be associated with the southwestern United States and Mexico. Unless the Mexican government sponsors or regulates the dishes, no food can literally be "Mexican" so I think we're splitting hairs. Regardless, it is far superior to the burgers and pizza otherwise offered at Pepper Market.as a Mexican I do not see the mexican architecture in that building. Seems like your classic european "by the river" vibe with just minor touches to look like the pyramids.
Infact, the restaurants looks like a pale imitation of the very well received restaurants in the Circle Du Soleil complex at Cancun ( Circle du Soleil, Joya) Which is also "above" a man made lake.
Good to know someone shares my opinion. That new tower looks nothing like texmex or mexican. Infact it has way more touches from Muslim landmark buildings you'd see in lower spain or Turkey.
But the pepper Market doesnt have mexican food per se, everything there are pseudo mexican dishes.
They are pretty much modified or texmex.
The food offered there is more on par of Houston's TEXMEX than mexican.

I think restaurants and bars will be the biggest direct impact. Conventions and meetings will be over in the evening, leaving plenty of time for adults to enjoy dinner and a drink. Fortunately they are accounting for that. But I hate to see Pepper Market lose a lot of character. I'm so surprised when I see people complain about the food there. I'm assuming they aren't eating the Mexican options which my wife and I love! In general, I think the niche of CSR loyalists are all on pins and needles.
Panchito’s Gifts and Sundries undergoes it’s remodeling starting next week. Will be significantly smaller in size.
What is this blasphemy?! Smaller? The shop isn't *that* big. And what do they plan to do with all the space? They are gaining the room of the old check-in area. They are shrinking Panchito's. I can't stop what's coming. That's for sure. But can they please just leave some of the charm?
I think Disney got a discount on the Riviera and Coronado towers - build the same boring towers twice and find some crap to stick on the outside. Save 50%!
With each rendering of the Coronado - the embellishments become more pathetic.
Anybody have an aerial view of the Resort with the new bridges drawn in? That’s a nice new feature, connecting the outer regions to the center restaurant and then onward to the pool or main area. That is nice.
I believe that the added Towsr and amenities at Coronado will be excellent for all. Thanks for the more balanced comment. Lots of judgment about a couple of half finished hotels at CSR and Riviera. I am willing to see how the whole experience comes together. The idea that a tower is inconsistent with the grounds for either area is just wrong - if you have ever visited the real resorts they are modeled on. If you look at how the new grounds come together in relation to the new tower and as you mention the new restaurant and the orientation around Lago Dorado - it will be better. They also just refurbed the rooms and they are far better looking than before and even have more Disney theming in them.
Heck - throw in a Skyliner expansion and this place might be perfect. Well, except for constantly running into people with name tags visiting for the tech expo or the American Association of HVAC Contractors or whatever.

Not modeled after a specific resort but the types of resorts found in those places. What do you mean by "the real resorts they are modeled on"? Are the new towers modeled after existing towers at other resorts? Or is CSR and CBR layouts modeled after other resorts?
Anything that can be sold fast and give Disney quick return.. is built blazing fast.I’m Amazed at how fast this is going up.
There’s also a significant difference in the type of build between something like this and pandora/Star Wars land etc...Anything that can be sold fast and give Disney quick return.. is built blazing fast.
anything else that doesn't immediately give a return? its split for shareholder's happiness.
Wow” why dont we at disney, have that team in the video build everything . Look how fast they were, in just a Minutes Every thing was ready, get to work boys! What do you mean by "the real resorts they are modeled on"?
