The picture of the new Contemporary Tower looks really stupid it looks like a line up of hotels or condos on Fort Lauderdale beach. It really makes me mad that they need to build something so big and take away the look of the Contemporary:mad:

Very upset thanks for listening!

I am inclined to agree with you. They have a great A-Frame hotel, and they build a circular structure next to it - it just doesn't make any sense to me. It looks odd.

What would really look bad would be another A-frame hotel right next to the one already there.

It might look a little bad now. But Disney usually always makes up for it in the end and it will probably look really cool when everythings complete. :)

...i hope... :lookaroun

The circular structure will look better when there is one on each side of the A frame. Think ahead, Disney does.

While the photos we've seen make it look like the tower is taller than the A-frame, it's not actually in person, it seemed to be just a tiny bit smaller in fact, and it looks okay. I'm sure it will look great when it's all done.

well think of it as the wand....each of us will have a side of the A-frame we like, some will like the wategate side, and some will like the vacation kingdom side

The only reason that most of us have an affection for the Contemporary is nostalgia. In architectural terms, it's very dated, and would look goofy [no pun intended] in any current downtown.

And I have bad feelings toward the new tower simply because it erased the North Garden Wing, which was a location for some of our best vacations. It's like Mission Space -- It's a great attraction, but I'm still cheesed at it because Horizons got knocked down to make room for it.

Still, I'll give the new tower a chance. If I had the cash, I might even buy into the DVC there. Key word, IF.

I have to disagree, I think the Comtemp has some very classic lines, nothing that was every to trendy, just a good, well proportioned look to it. Of course, its all in the eye of the beholder.
