Construction walls along the entrance way coming into fantasmic

Could you repost that, It seems to have magically vanished.

Jt04, Are you speaking to me, because I don't understand. The post is above, on my screen and it is a reply to your post a page behind us. You can see the pasted image of Disneyland's Toontown in the bottom image.

Why don't they build a monorail that goes to DHS? Then they could add on the the TTC parking lot and get rid of the current DHS parking lot, giving them more space to expand...
It would probably be really expensive though

I believe you will agree when you visit the first time. These are like lands within a land. They are doing the same thing at DL for the princesses. PH also qualifies as a mini-land IMO. It seems to be a new trend in theme park design by WDI.
No I won't. I've seen enough plans and blueprints to show me exactly what's being built and where. From buildings and pathways down to railing type and lampost style. And it's one single, pretty extension of Fantasyland.

I have seen plans to and I am sticking with the idea that these are like mini World Showcase type areas or mini-lands. It will be more than interesting to hear how all manner of guests percieve these areas.

I so agree, with both of your statements. Walt meant for the Monorail to be exteded to all the parks, providing transportation to anywhere in the resort property. Unfortunately, Disney decided not to continue the Monorail any further past EPCOT, since it was tremendously expensive to build. I wish that they would take the extra expense and extend the monorail that far since riding the monorail is very convenient, and doesn't take as long! I love the monorail... :D

Anyhow, that would be the BEST QUALITY of change for the parking lot to be removed. I don't think that will happen, though, since it costs over $1M per mile of monorail track.... (not saying that Disney doesn't have the money, but oh well.) It is more likely that if Disney wanted to expand Hollywood Studios, and they had to get rid of the lot, they would expand the lot of the close Blizzard Beach Waterpark (across the road), and repurpose the the land there (from a conservation site, which it may be) to more lot space and possibly an area where transportation will be used to transport the guests across the road to the park. In any case, the monorail seems like the simpler plan... ;)

Welcome to the boards. You should do a search for the multiple monorail discussions. They shed real light on exactly why the system wont be expanded.

By the way, your $1 million a mile is off by a factor of 30-100. Try 30-100 million a mile! It is a really expensive endeavor. If it were 1 million a mile we would already have one to Orlando International Airport.

I sorry for livin'! I have took your cue to look up the real figures and it seems that you are right... I suppose we won't be seeing expanded monorail reach since it will really cost more than $100M per mile, instead of that measley $1M... Usually, this number that I said in the first post, is often repeated as the actual number. Even some Disney tv shows say this number. I have seen now that they are all wrong. Most people get this mixed up (even I, the Disney "know-it-all" in my family!) because when the monorail was first build (1970's-1980's) the cost WAS approx. $1M per mile. Unfortunately, it is much more expensive in today's economy. Unless someone begins mainframing monoral track production, making it much more affordable (for billionaires), Disney will NOT be expanding. Thanks agian for the clarrification, and please don't be so sarcastic again. Thanks! :)

Sarcasm was not intended. I was trying to help.

Out of curiousity, how many miles would it take to connect Epcot with DHS & then rejoin at the World Dr./Epcot Center Dr. junction? 7 or 8 (just guess-timating)? Would that even be possible?

They are building next generation stroller parking!!!!

If only that were true - especially if that meant a hideaway to keep the things out of sight. The damn things are an eyesore. Sometimes there are so many of them parked hither and yon that TDO might as well call Fantasyland "Strollerland". :p

I know... uggg! Most of the people who rent them use them like plows. I always hated being plowed around by families with 2+ strollers, and people on the hoverrounds, since they think that they can bulldoze everyone! It's about time they should build some other stroller parking somewhere in the woods... lol

been around here for a long time, but barely post. usually just a reader. However, I came across information from a fairly reliable source that this construction behind BatB is nothing more than staging areas and backstage storage. Also BatB will most likely not being going anywhere for about 3 years. Thought I would share.

This is something I cannot stand at the MK...Having just visited DL, I realize just how overcrowded the MK is with strollers. I saw maybe 15-20 percent as many strollers at DL than I do at MK. Heck, even DHS, Epcot, and DAK combined don't seem to have as many strollers!
