Construction between Contemporary and TTC

DVC with beachfront units, some smaller buildings with the other unit sizes and monorail (and boat) access? Would certainly be a big seller and would have the benefit of helping to subsidize monorail operations via the annual dues.

Since they stopped Reflections, they'll want to have another DVC to sell at some point, though I guess the Grand Floridian conversion is the plan to fill that gap.
I can’t see them building anything here with the reflections site in the state it is in. That fence looks horrible from a guest experience perspective. I doubt this is anything really.

Right. Profits from the deluxe lets Disney offer low priced value resorts. Pop is getting closer to $300 a night with every increase.

Does it let Disney charge low prices for food, drink and snacks NOT.

lower ticket prices. NOT

Profits from every class of customer gives corporate $$$. WDW is an ATM for corporate.

Disney is corporate.

It wouldn’t be necessary. If anything were happening here.

If this happens, would it include monorail access? I just find it hard to believe they’d build a resort ON the monorail loop without it but of course, it’s Disney so I wouldn’t be surprised.

Not a shame at all. I could think of fifty better uses for the cleared land next to FW. For one, it's RIGHT next to a horse stable.
I’m not saying they have to build reflections there, just that it’s be a shame if they left this big ugly construction site there. Plant some trees and grass and take down the fence at least.

This is pure speculation from someone who has no particular knowledge of geoengineering or Disney company insight... but maybe, given the recent news item from Miami, Disney is resurveying a known area of weakness on their property? Perhaps checking the integrity of the monorail supports?

On the other hand, it would seem less likely that they could hire and deploy such a contractor on short notice.

If they are actually laying groundwork for constructing a new hotel, given the public knowledge about that problems with that particular piece of ground, the timing couldn't have been worse.

That’s public “knowledge”

People just think they know something about that property

That ground is no worse than ground all over WDW

Agree w returning the now fallow Reflections site to nature / make it part of the horse riding trails. Considering it once was the site of the ill fated River Country water park that was closed in 2001 and allowed to become a cesspool, yeah, just let it be.

I think the source that the blog mickey article links to should put this "public knowledge" to rest. It's buildable

This is the first thing to come to mind. They had this entire resort planned, they started construction and everything.....abandoned due to covid, and they're just going to build a new one somewhere else? Seems to me the more cost effective solution would be to finish the reflections project first....

The reflections drilling contractor offered a "buy one get one free" promotion on drilling geology holes. Disney is just using their credits before they expire.

Kidding! ...Although it does fit.

Even with a stop you could walk from there to TTC for express or Epcot monorail access. And we all hope for a walking route. And would free up reflections for Ft. Wilderness goodies. So lots of good stuff could happen here.

Premium parking? Ugh. I always wanted to walk around in there, so even just adding a path and ntohing else could be goodness.

Whether or not the ground actually is suitable, I don't claim to know either way. But it doesn't take more than a cursory search on the internet to find claims that there's problems with the ground. Whatever the truth, it wouldn't take the Twitterati long to paint a narrative that Disney is building on unsafe ground, which would have particular bad optics after the events of the last week.

Perceptions could well be far worse than the reality.

Depends how much they want to spend. They’ve tried before.

It’s the most valuable ultra deluxe site available. If they easily could they would.

Sounds like there were economy barriers the last couple of times they tried. I'd imagine that they are encouraged right now given how well everything is bouncing back and what appears to be true pent-up demand
