HOWEVER...It could be worse. It could be Nemo-fied and overly gaudy and foolish.Sure, the ending is lackluster but at least it focuses on EPCOT Center values-creating a future better for you and me.
It could be a LOT worse.
:lol:Ah, I can see it now: "Spaceship Earth with Nemo and friends!" Join Marlin, Dorey, and Nemo as they travel to show the history of fish communication! But oh no! Nemo is lost again! Its up to you, Marlin, and Dorey to travel across time to find him before he gets eaten by the mutant news paper boy, in this brand new attraction, utuilizing the most advanced screen technology to date, opening just in time for the ( fifteenth ) Year of a Million Dreams! :brick::brick::brick::brick::brick::hurl:
Some of you are amazing. You say things like "that simply isn't true" and expect people to take them as fact.
Do you really think it takes a lot of space for the birthday pepper's ghost effects? It takes next to none. That space is not huge, never was huge, and never will be huge because it can't be. The area where the SSE model was isn't big, wasn't big, and never will be. That model was quite small.
The descent has never been more than a glorified light show past the top 1/4 portion. It's no different now. I'm done trying to convince anyone who doesn't know the facts.
The bottom line is what has been said many times already. If you don't like it, too damn bad. Get over yourself. You think htis is a shabby rehab? That's laughable that you can overlook the entire attraction for a 150 foot stretch that hasn't changed all that much from it's original form and former rehabs. I can't believe that none of you complainers don't have anything better to do with your time.
While you guys and moan, I'm going to go enjoy WDW like the rest of the sane people around here.

And thats fine for some people and when the declining by degrees (as so rightfully put by Kevin Yee on that other site) and we see more things like Stitch Encounter and Dino-Rama get built because Disney knows that it's "just good enough" for most people, then great, enjoy the former great Disney experience.
Meanwhile the rest of us will be voicing our opinion in the hopes that things can be improved to their former high standards that Disney itself set the bar for.

What are we mourning exactly? My God you'd think they replaced the entire ride with video screens the way people are acting. Maybe people we hoping for more in the "plussing" department, but as far as the original is concerned not much has changed...so it's not like we should be mourning anything here. I mean...did you like the original music and narration THAT much better before? Because that's all I really noticed that was truly different aside from the descent, which sucked before so it is an improvement over the original in my eyes.
That said, for all the money they spent on the touch screens, the ending could have been something more elaborate than a flash animation. Still, I guarantee you the vast majority of people will prefer this ending BY FAR over the original. My girlfriend and I were laughing the entire way down watching the animations. People laughing and smiling leaving an attraction is what you want in the end.
I agree 100%. I'm just suprised about how quiet the "insiders" have gotten on these boards. Many do owe Merf an apology, including me for doubting him, and I hope he keeps posting with the same critical analysis he has become known for. As for ReDis, his (or her) posts were the most interesting I have ever read here! ReDis, Please come back. You are missed.
I think that this is what people's problem with the ending is. SSE was not meant to be a funny, jokey attraction. They want to leave the attraction with a feeling of inspiration, not some silly joke. Just my take on the situation.

The word coming out of WDI around Christmas was simply that it wasnt finished, and to wait until Feb. As many said at the time, it's rare for disney to open to guest and make huge changes, so many doubted the "not finished" line. Perhaps something changed within Disney - lack of funding, or other issues, or maybe there are still significant things to come. The fact is not many poeople know, and those who do, obviously cant say to much in public. What is clear to me though, is that something went pretty seriously wrong with the second half of the Spaceship Earth refurbishment, be it corporate involvment, third party outsourcing, lack of financing, or a combination. I am seriously hoping it will be looked at again and the problems resolved, but as we creep closer to Fed, it's not looking good.
What the heck's a sheeple, my friend? (And do you have a list of the paid shills :lookaroun)The paid shills who post on WDWMagic and other websites did there best.
Hopefully they had better luck getting people to think it’s okay to charge an extra $5.00 at the buffet’s during the Holidays.
Now if only they could tell us it’s still okay to visit WDW in 2008, even though that house the sheeple bought is worth 80k less than they paid for it.
The sheeple are everywhere...What the heck's a sheeple, my friend? (And do you have a list of the paid shills :lookaroun)
