Letter writing anyone?

Petition?

I dont know but we need to at least find someway to voice our displeasure, because tbf this is a joke. I just cant belive they have done this, that somebody considers this an inspiring ending.

Agreed, Im going to send a letter to Disney World, Disney Imagineering, and Siemens.
Ok so maybe it will do no good, but they went back into Imagination after all the fuss for it, not that its second redo was much better but better than the first. Also going into Guest Relations wouldnt hurt either, I would think the more who go in there and complained the better.

The descent is not bad, but it could be so much better. However, I can't judge it completely until I ride it myself (and that won't be until at least early 2010).

Here's to the future of Spaceship Earth.

Life goes on.

I will never get why people want to burn down Spaceship Earth because 10% of the new refurb isn't the BEST ENDING EVER.

I guess I'm the only one who's always thought that SSE has never had the BEST ENDING EVER.

Can they at least do something with the newspaper boy? It's kinda wierd that he's looking away instead of at us. Maybe the imagineers damaged him and they want to cover up the damage.

Maybe they are still going to tweak things like that through the rest of the month. They better or thats just :brick:

No, my only problem with the refurb isn't as important as the ending...

Agree 100%! Even the last ending was horrible! The lame swirly lights above your head?!

I can't believe people are complaining about this one portion of the ride so much. Imagineering has given you all so much in the way of SSE! The wand came down, all the AA's and scenes have been fixed up, you got a new narration with Judy Dench who everyone was just raving about months ago, and you got an awesome post-show area! Not to mention the nice new night time lighting on the trees outside! Quit your complaining people and be thankful for everything else we've gotten!!

I guess the old ending packed more of an emotional punch than this one does? WDI did what they thought was best for the widest audience. You can't please everyone.

I ruined this for myself by watching the video of it, even though I promised myself I wouldn't. I would probably feel a lot better about it if I got to see it in person. Oh well.

I'll throw my hat in this ring as well. From the top down has always been a snooze fest as long as I can remember. Regardless of music, mini-SSE, or the future city...the ending was always lacking in detail.

You don't think any of the endings that SSE was the best? Huh? Or do you just mean you didn't like any of the endings? Anyway, I haven't seen anyone say they would want to burn it down--that's a classic trick, put extreme words in someone else's mouth to make yourself seem sane and reasonable. It's just that a lot of people genuinely liked the previous ending much more than the current one. Everyone was excited about SSE getting a refurb, so it disappointing to some people that the new ending is a downgrade to them. What's wrong with them expressing their opinions?

What's wrong me expressing mine?

Or did I just blow your mind?

I'm just kidding, I was just turning what people think into a funnier phrase. Yes, nobody actully wanted to burn down SSE.

I agree with you and the others after who have. I KNOW YOUR only being scarasitic about saying people want to burn it down... I understand... when I hear people scream and yell over the ending...its almost like they do want to burn it down. Its really sad that even after so much was put into the ride and everything that still people can't live with the fact that there no blinking lights over your head. The part that I hated the most....because the vechicle would always stop at that part when your half way upside down staring at it... kinda made your head hurt!!... My parents use to use SSE to take a nap when we were kids..HECK they still did before the refurb. Hey at least its not as bad as the stupied hovering Everest bird...Sorry I digress!

Its funny... people complained when SSE was sitting there getting dust...and now they are complaining after it has been refreshed...just because they aren't looking at pretty blinking lights...correction color changing cords "fiber-obitics" wooooo:rolleyes:

Merf is Right!

Write Letters or call, it does work!

One way to look at this though is the whole jibjab face "technology" will become tired and dated in a year or so and they will have to change it.
Way too fadish.

Bit of advice: PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING UNLESS IT IMPROVES ON THE ORIGINAL!

I'm also in agreement regarding the refurb. I really like the enhancements and while the ending is rather plain, I didn't find it much worse than the previous one.

I am no means picking on one particular poster but these types of comments:

Then again, John Q. Public from Oshkosh, USA probably doesn't care one way or the other if SSE has a dramatic ending...
Irk me to no end.

This is the equivalent of saying "If I don't agree with you then I am of the unwashed masses and not a true Disney fan". It is an attitude that is prevalent and sad on these boards. Just because everyone doesn't share your opinion doesn't mean they are ignorant or an average tourist.

Some of us actually do get the message of Epcot that was and is being marketed and find it tiring. It doesn't mean that we are less of a person or more average than you, just different.

Again, not singling out a single poster just an overall attitude I have noticed on the boards.

Again, while the ending was never a spectacular display of engineering or amazing feats of technology, it WAS fitting with the rest of the ride, the theme of moving toward the future was intact and the music and narration added to it.

Now it just doesn't fit AT ALL with the rest of the ride, there's too many questions, then there's the mini quiz (seriously, a quiz, what is this? Elementary school with Judy Dench as the teacher?) and a cheaply done cartoon with our faces plastered on, going through a completely fake and forgettable future.

I also think the Matrix tunnel is waaay too much like the Matrix, I mean, it's like a blatant ripoff.

Proposed Lyrics for "New Horizons" for Horizons done in the late 70s/early 80s. It wasn't just the song for a ride, it was for the entire park.

There's a smile on the face of tomorrow...like the heart-warming sight of a friend....where we work, where we play, dreams come true everyday, as we reach for new horizons. We have learned to get more out of living, to create a rich happy lifetime to have...for the whole human race, there's a time and a place as we reach for new horizons...as we climb out of yesterday's shadow, and the hope for our future draws near...we are free to build and grow, to choose the way we go...the promise of tomorrow is clear...tomorrow is here!...we have countless new meadows to harvest, and the challenge to dream without end, life is filled with so much more than we ever had before...reaching new horizons, reaching.....new....horizons!

Oh but doesn't that sound so outdated? You know big hair, neon clothes, Apple II and floppy disks?

Epcot: Entertain, Inform, make you laugh and giggle for 5-15 minutes.

Disney, if I could offer you the golden "most-effed-up-refurb" award, I would right now!

Enjoy your touch screens everyone. May the loud audio, people laughing and screaching all around you, and dark tunnel be a most inspiring ending to a symbolic attraction.

That made me smile. :D And neon clothes will never go out of style... :lookaroun

matrix tunnel reminds me of business update on local news.
