I never thought I would purposely plan a Spring break trip however with swimming, soccer, hockey, school and work to work around. It was the best we could do.

I had sticker shock when we looked at room and decided to do a split stay so we could get standard rooms at each resort.

April 8-12 Contemporary-garden wing
April 12-15 Yachtsman- standard

We are looking forward to walking to Magic Kingdom from the Contemporary. That’s our favorite part of that resort. The kids are SOOOOO excited for Strormalong Bay!!! We wanted to stay the whole trip at Beach Club but we waited too long so 3 nights at the Yachtsman was our compromise for my little fish!

Hi
Yes - it would be a rye and coke
Drank too many as a teenager in one sitting and cannot stomach rye anymore

I must have missed the nickname change but when did Ninja become Nene??

Max
Finally have a few free minutes to pick this report back up. Rye and coke was a favorite of mine in college. Hubby played hockey so I was surrounded by Canadians who taught me their ways😜.

All our kids have lengthy nick names that pretty much defeats the purpose of a nickname.

Nene Ninja Ledo
Jetty Pie Landers
Handsome C-hunk Walkie Talkie
Clarry Claire-Bear

No idea how these evolved but we just keep adding to them.

Sorry soccer season craziness! We are actually in Washington DC this weekend for a tournament but we have some downtime between games.

We left off circling world showcase and that’s where I’ll pick back up. The kids weren’t liking any of the options from the Flower and Garden booths (besides desserts). I knew we were going to need to find some real food to avoid a temper tantrum. It was also time to find a spot for fireworks. We decided to split up. Hubby and I went for food and Paca and kids would find a spot. One plus and egg pic before we separate.

I posted up at the pizza window in Italy while hubby tracked down pretzels in Germany. We had limoncello and beers to continue our drinks around the world. Paca had a hard time finding a spot however this fantastic family from Anaheim took pity on him and gave up some of their space. It was their first time at WDW however they were annual season pass holders at DL. We had the best time chatting with them and sharing our favorites about each park. In no time the show was starting.

All of my pictures are blurry except this one. We enjoyed the show but don’t really feel like it’s worthy of the obstructed views of world showcase.

It was an extended hour evening at Epcot so our plan was to ride Frozen and Test track after the fireworks. However first the kids needed to finish finding eggs. We had to back track a little but the kids were not leaving without finding the eggs.

Frozen line was about 20minutes so we jumped in line.

We could not find the Norway egg anywhere. I looked it up on google to see where it should be and it wasn’t there. I asked a cast member because the kids wouldn’t give up. Without missing a beat she said “One of Elsa’s spells had gone awry and they would get the egg back up as soon as it defrosted.”
She told the kids which sticker to put there and away we went. My family is really into Vikings shows so I had to send this picture to my dad.

All the shops were closing up so we were the last margaritas served.

At long last we located the last egg.

I give our kids credit. They always complete a task.

Our extra hour was almost over but we had to take in the beauty of “the ball” makeover. Handsone said “Thats the prettiest ball I’ve ever seen.” We all died laughing.

We can’t do night pictures! We said goodbye to the beautiful ball and headed out.

We hopped on the monorail and Bear started getting sad she didn’t find a Spirit jersey she liked. She decided to pull her wallet out of her backpack to show her Paca her birthday gift cards. Her wallet was blue iridescent with mermaid scales.

We arrive to the Contemporary and Het decides she needs a shoot shoot of the Spirit Jersey she did buy.

We make it to the room and everyone gets ready for bed. We unload our park bags and Bear realizes she lost her wallet. She is so very upset. I can’t remember which Monorail color we were on but I immediately file a lost item report. I didn’t realize she brought ALL her Disney gift cards with her. She lost $200 in GC and $37 in cash. She was heart broken and I was so mad at myself for her carrying all that around. Her sibling tried to console her and all 4 of them slept in a hotel bed together that night. Which I am certain will be the last time they will all fit!

Wednesday April 12 - Break day and switch resorts

The kids slept in until 9:00am. I woke up and packed up all our bags to a movable state. By 10:00 we were all ready to go and called an Uber. We had to take two XLs and with all the people, luggage and a wheelchair we barely fit.

We arrived at Yacht Club promptly however our rooms weren’t ready since it was so early. We checked out the lobby and all the pretty Easter eggs.

We had a brunch reservation at Topolinos so we decided to make our way to the Skyliner.
The Skyliner is the best form of Disney Transportation in my opinion.

This was our first time at Tuplino’s and I just want to say it was worth the hype. The atmosphere, the food, the characters but mostly the SERVICE!!!

The characters came to see us right away. We love their outfits!

They came around quite a few more times through your meal but these were the only picture we took. Our server was so amazing! He interacted with the kids and played games. I wish I could remember his name now but either way we made sure to tell management and give him a cast review. Here he is teaching Handsome how to roll silverware so he can stay at Disney.

Our food was all delicious! Paca kept raving about the chocolate croissants in the pastry basket so our fantastic server brought him out a Togo container full of them. That was Paca’s breakfast the rest of the trip!

I almost forgot. I was sad there were no Mickey Waffles on the adult menu so he bought us each a Mickey waffle to go along with our entree.

We finished up our brunch but hadn’t received a room ready text so we decided to continue to explore the Riviera. The rooftop deck was first.

This was our first time staying at the Yacht Club. The hotel is great but the rooms are just ok in my opinion. I actually like a few more Disney touches but I may be in the minority. We had a great view/location to the quiet pool which we actually ended up using more than Storm along Bay just because it was so close to our room.

We spent about three hours at the pools. I didn’t take my phone so I have no proof but the kids loved it. I like these longer trips where we can enjoy resort days but with all our crazy work/school/sports/drama club schedules it is getting hard to do 7-10 day trips.

At 5:00 we started to make our way to Disney Springs. We had great luck with bus service at the Yacht Club. We waited maybe 15 minutes tops. We had a few spots we wanted to go to before our dinner reservation . Gideon’s was top on our list so we wanted to get our name on the waitlist. Low and behold there was no wait so we were told to jump in line.

None of us could withstand the sirens call of the cookies so we all dug in. It was very good but very rich and way too much cookie an hour before a dinner reservation!! Next up was the Lego store.
522390AB-CC77-4125-B5EC-E356E4E88A64.jpeg

Handsome and Jet made a few selections here. Bear and Ninja are both girly girls so clothing and jewelry is more their style. So we had to return to the scene of the crime of our very first WDW trip. Nene was so mesmerized by this Stitch we lost her in the crowd and it was a heart pounding five minutes until we found her again. She still remembers it!

We had a dinner reservation for Al Smith’s Homecoming. I was so excited for this one. I had been wanting to eat here for years!

I was so full from that cookie but I still wanted to try everything. We started with the deviled eggs and a flight.

The eggs needed a pinch of salt but I salt everything. I ended ordering a salad because I was just too full for the fried chicken I had intended to order😢. That just means we will have to go back because everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

We took the bus back to our room and called it an early night on our “rest day”.

My kids said no more Contemporary after this trip. Between the construction on the garden wing and the terrible busing. I just love the walk to MK so it looks like I’ll need to save up for the Floridian.
Might I suggest the Beach Club. I have 4 boys and when they were little MK was important but now EPCOT and DHS (thrill rides and SW) are the focus and bonus you can walk to EPCOT and short boat to DHS. Also Storm along Bay pool is amazing and Beaches and Cream. OK OK I'll stop now I sound like a salesman. When I wrote this I didn't know you were split staying. I love to split stay almost like 2 different vacations in one. :)
