I'm wondering how they are going to go about doing Thor. Focus on the Norse God side in Asgard for the whole film or focus on the super hero side? It's going to be tough to balance both out in one film.

I love Edgar Wright and SImon Pegg. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are awesome, I can't wait to get their show Spaced on DVD this month. Have you ever seen it?

Are there any comic book lovers on this site? Come on, folks, I can't be the only one. Show some love for funny books and let's talk comics!

Nope, you're not the only one! Can't say I'm "into" all these different comics, but I absolutely love Mike Grell's versions of Green Arrow. I have quite a few of them, as well as the '80's Green Arrow series. I'm a fan of vintage video game systems and I enjoy seeing the old Atari and Intellivision ads in those comics.

I also have some Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel comics, and a really cool Anne Rice Vampire Lestat graphic novel.

:)

Epcot.Nut- an Oliver Queen fan, cool! The 80's Green Arrow books were great, especially when he teamed up with Green Lantern. What's your connection to Green Arrow? What made you read his books?

I love vintage Atari. As fun as the new game systems are, nothing beats the old classics. I miss the old video games sometimes.

I've been shooting a recurve for about 14 years now and the archery element interested me. I didn't grow up reading comic books at all as a kid and happened to find Green Arrow because the cover was interesting to me.

You should check out www.atariage.com - they still make new games in the original cartridges for the Atari. If you have a console or can find one on ebay, there's no reason you can't still play the old games, and get into the new games that are being developed.

Your thread has me interested in checking out some other comics - and the new comic-based movies that seem to be coming out all the time help spark that interest.

Or if you download an emulator....not that I condone that sort of thing :lookaroun

I was going to say that but then I had to buy a Stelladapter to use the joystick and I'd rather play on my console!

I do have the Z26 emulator....and I enjoy playing games in development that are on the atariage forums in the homebrew game development section.

But Holy Hijacked Thread, Batman!

If you would like some suggestions comic wise as to what to read or not, let me know and I can suggest a few good books. I love talking comics, so ask away!

Green Arrow is an interesting character. As Oliver Queen he can be very political, and this is something the writers sometimes play with. He has a cool Robin Hood costume, which I always loved, but they do give him some stupid arrows sometimes IE: a boxing glove arrow, handcuff arrows, etc. Still, in the hands of a good writer Green Arrow is brilliant.

He made an appearance in Smallville for a while. They sort of kept to his costume design but made it a bit more modern day snazzy, which was OK. They also had him, for a costume ball, dressed up in the costume Green Arrow wore when first created, which I thought was nice.

Marvel Comics has Hawkeye, who also uses a bow and arrow. He is part of the Avengers. While I never really got into that character, I did love how he was written in The Ultimates, which is a great book.

I prefer Green Arrow though to Hawkeye.

New comic movie wise there are some great movies coming out based on some great existing characters, and some great new characters.

Got to save the thread! For those buyin comics this week, I believe they come out on Thursday due to last weeks holiday.

The new Indiana Jones mini-series, Tomb of the Gods, comes out.

Elfquest might work better as an animated film.

Yeah, I read that about the Goon. CGI works great for that film. The only person I can see playing the Goon live action under that make up would be Ron Perlman aka Hellboy, he works wonders under all that stuff.

.

You are correct.

I am really starting to enjoy the Batman RIP storyline, and the new Hulk series is just...incredible! (sorry, I had to say it)

Which Hulk series is this? Is it the Hulk Red or Son of Hulk?

Kate Beckinsale is in White Out. I forgot all about that movie, any idea on the release date?

Thor rocks. Early on in this newest Thor series Iron Man came to Thor and told him he had to register. They get into this fight and Thor hands Stark his metal butt throwing him all over the place and then frying his circuts. It was such a great moment in comic history.

I was just reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman on my lunch break.

Going to get my comics on the way home from work, looking forward to it. hehe

Every Wednesday is like Christmas for you isn't it

I think it's great!

Does anybody know of any interesting Marvel storylines starting up next week or in the near future involving IronMan, Hulk, or the Avengers?

I really wish I had hopped onto Civil War and World War Hulk...as well as Secret Invasion.
