So what does the "33" stand for? I've heard it's the 33rd level of free-masonry Walt achieved. Until I hear a reputable answer, that's what I'm going with.
Can't wait to see how they hide these in all four parks.
Kind of like the cabanas and the Poly BungalowsHide them?
Why would they want to do that? This isn't 1983.
They want the masses to see them and want in ... because some people will do anything for the ability to be special in the Disney community. I've seen discussions with people opting to not pay their bills, but take lavish WDW vacations. It is an addiction with many.
Anyway, they want you to know about these. These aren't like the originals in Anaheim and Tokyo, which were designed largely for business people and VIPs. These are for people living the Disney Lifestyle ... rubes with more money than sense.
No bloggers there every day.
It was place where walt and other executives could meet with other business and movie executives in Disneyland and talk business and have an adult beverage in PRIVATE.
As for the pricetag if you have to ask you cannot afford it.
Out of all the o town bloggers only Brigante can afford membership...
They have the space. They've had it planned for a while.
Is it coming? Yes.
Will it be probably just lounges to begin with? More than likely.
I have been to and eaten at Club 33 in DL as part of a charity auction I won. You still have to pay for the food and it is pretty MEH. Nothing special, but if I had the extra money I would buy in. Then again, I would probably just buy more DVC points instead and hang around with the rest of your riff-raff.
I think the DLR initiation fee is $40K now. I'd expect this to be substantially higher.
Spread across 4 parks, I wonder how much capacity per location they are aiming for. I also wouldn't expect full restaurants in each park, perhaps one, with the rest being lounges.
Got to hand it to them though. It's been such a gradual shift over the past 20 or so years to this point, that an entire generation of guests don't know what they're missing. No one born this millennium has any idea that characters used to roam freely around the park and you rarely had to wait in line. They have no concept of a world without fastpass (soon to be a world without FP+). That "planning" meant grabbing a park map at the start of the day and choosing where to go first, not booking ADRs and FPs months in advance. Average middle class families are either sacrificing to afford the ever-rising costs, or unwisely adding debt.I know I first heard about them bringing 'the club' to WDW at least 4-5 years ago and I mentioned here not long after. No way they are opening anything more than lounges this year. My gut says they are still afraid the market can't support it. So they don't want to invest BIGLY and then have to pull back. It's all about rubes and their money and Disney addictions.
What is sick is WDW is completely becoming a stratified experience where you are not on an even playing field with fellow Guests (and before people say it has always been that way -- NO, it hasn't, you're wrong, learn your history and come back). Soon, you could spend $8,000 for a week and still be behind in Fast Passes, in access to meal reservations, access to new areas (like Star Wars ... and let's not even talk about their plans for that resort yet!), transportation, even meeting foamheads. They are almost pulling an airline deal here where you now pay for everything that was once included.
They may think this is smart, but they should pay attention to the UAL situation to get how this can blow up in their faces very quickly.
Wonder where they think their audience is for this product ... only a few bloggers/Lifestylers/podcasters can afford that.
You mean Apple, Coca Cola, and Walmart? The Golden Oak crowd i'm guessing
Don't know when you've been, but I've been multiple times in the past few years and the food is most definitely not "MEH" ...I'd call it the best food at the DLR by a bit and that means better than Napa Rose and Steakhouse 55, which are both amazing.
DHS will likely be upstairs at Brown Derby. There's already guest restrooms upstairs. There's a elevator and some sort of kitchen/ dining space from when there was an upstairs bar in what's now disney JR.Why are they a big secret? Can no one spill where they will be? It's not like we don't know where the other ones are LOL
It will save posts and posts of speculation ... just saying ...
It does seem silly to flaunt wealth like that. I guarantee the fourth vloggers with have some wealthy person who will have them up only to say they knew "celebs"I def remember the origins and history of it.
