Cinderella's Golden Carrousel to change its name June 1

Although I'm mostly indifferent, I agree that there would have been, like, fifty complaints a day looking for the "Cinderella ride" in New Fantasyland, and then people directing them to the carousel. And when you have Cinderella's Royal Table behind Cinderella Castle, it becomes easy to get confused. And the backstory is a nice idea, too, and it even has some historical fiction in it!

I think we should all calm down and take a breath. It's the name of a carousel. It's not like they're ripping it out and replacing it with a roller coaster. We'll make it through this, I promise.

Stop complaining. How many of you actually called it "Cinderella's Golden Carousel"? I am willing to bet many of you call it simply the "Carousel". Most people probably do.

There is nothing wrong with a deeper backstory either. I suppose this is when the WDWMagic change allergy comes in. This will most likely tie in to the new FL's backstory better.
I call it the horses..:lookaroun:lol:

I really do not care..I just said Boo because I am not that big of a fan of the whole FL change to begin with...I like it the way and am not fond of them moving Dumbo...:(

Though it does not affect my life and I will not die and boycott WDW in favor of Harry Potter land world or whatever..:D

What does it matter truly? I mean they're changing the name, not the ride. You all need to chill. Just because it's gonna have Prince Charming's name in it doesn't mean you have to call it that, just like what WDW Vacationer said. It's not that big a deal. Thing's need change sometimes, and Disney sees this as one of those times. Speaking of Change. I'm in favor of a certain person who like's "change". Anyone else if you catch my drift.

P.S. The names in my signature. It was cool for him to be in my town, but I still don't agree with him. O and sorry for this, but I'm big for random thoughts.

Very Random! and sorry he came to your town...:(:lookaroun:D

Will I?..What if I do not?..What if Maggie screams and cries and throws a tantrum?

What then?..Will life ever be the same again?!!!

Stop whining about the name change. The average MK visitor wont even give a crap about the name, the just care about whether they get to ride it. I dont like the name change either but i'm just happy that they're not taking it away or adding stitch to it or something.

I wonder how many hours worth of highly paid consultants and imagineers it took to come up with this strategy and story implementation. I'm guessing lots of secret meetings, planning, maybe focus groups, flip-chart sessions, executive presentations, etc. to change the name of the carousell! Hilarious, really.

THANK YOU! It's a carrousel people. This is causing as much conroversy when it was announced that the Sears Tower in Chicago was being renamed to Willis Tower. Yes I agree with some that this is to add a tone a masculinity to the New Fanstasyland, maybe also to make it less Cinderella-centric. Fantasylaand may be skewed towards girls but one can also make an argument that Adventureland is geared a little towards boys. Pirates and exploring are not usually associated with girls.

Well someone forgot the first amendment today... :)
Anyways I think this change is cool. I mean its not really needed but its cool that the ride has a story now, even if that story doesn't make the most sense...

Fantaseyland really doesn't need a story. Its more surreal and montage-like than the other lands. I really don't see why they need to bother with a story here.
