Cinderella's Chateau Discussion

Is the size of the picture supposed to illicit that reaction?

It's actually a mosaic of the Picard "face in palm" photo made up of many other face-in-palm photos. Save it to your computer and then shrink it to a small size and it becomes more apparent. (When it's too big you see all the "pixels" of the mosaic)

I don't understand why people are already bashing on FYL, the first piece of dirt hasn't even moved yet and people are already hating it...

I'm pretty sure during construction they will cover the visible building, those being; Dumbo, Toontown, Teacups, Pooh, Play areas, Mermaid Lagoon and M&G, etc, will be covered with walls like those of DCA, or like that Stitch one. I personally enjoy the Stitch wall that were recently posted. Now as far as when the attractions are complete and the new FYL opens, the show buildings will most likely be hidden by facades. If you look at the revised edition of the FYL concept art, you will notice that it has a lot of rock work covering the show buildings.

That worries me. How are they doing to have these small cottages and village like buildings displayed then? Flanked by rock? Hmm

Well, the cottage for Sleeping Beauty will simply have rockwork in the back... Same with all the other buildings... I personally don't think that the Mermaid attraction and the Beast's Castle is flanked by rock. The castle is simply on top of the rock work, the Mermaid attraction is simply nestled on it, and the Chateau is just there. The rockwork just covers the show building, not the facade or the building itself. Just the building in which the attractions are... I hope I'm explaining myself well.

Maybe another look at the concept art might help (no sarcasm or rudeness intended.)

Rocks cover show building. Simple and effective.

Why worry?

That's what I'm thinking will look odd. A building flanked by the rocks. The other examples you gave are fine.

It is behind the chateau. Why would a rock wall take away from the Chateau?

And with the new rocks at DCA, I don't think you'll be able to tell which rocks are real and fake.

And who knows, maybe they will do hand-carved rock work here as well.

I don't think it seems odd IMO. Well, a permit has been filed named MK - North Site Development - D/B Facility Package. I speculate that it has to do with this expansion? What do you guys think? Could construction be underway?

Just to put up some specs:

-This will be constructed by Construction. They have been used for the creation of the World of Disney store at DTD.
-John C. Blitch, the Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering has signed this paper. Leading me to believe this means business.

Most likely it means "Design & Build" Facility Package". Chances are this is the installation of the construction trailers to oversee the project, just like how we saw the trailers built at the STOLPort for the construction of Bay Lake Tower.
