Cinderella's Chateau Discussion

Now a days an E-Ticket is based on different random factors. Is it housed in one of the largest buildings in the park? Then its an E ticket! Look at Soarin. Its got a horrible queue and essentially you are just watching a movie where they put scents in your face. So is Bugs Life and Philharmagic an E? Bugs Life has its queue take you through the park icon and you watch a movie with scents in your face. How many attractions are in the park? A park like AK only has a few attractions so you may say that Bugs Life is an E ticket, while Philharmagic is not. Tower of Terror is an E Ticket because it has good theming in the queue line, but the ride is extremely short, so length isn't always a factor. An E ticket is whatevers an E Ticket to YOU, not what is labeled an E Ticket. If I had the chance to ride Soarin or Haunted Mansion, Id pick Mansion. So shouldn't that make it an E Ticket for me? If an E ticket is supposed to be the best the park has to offer, then yes, that would be an e ticket in my eyes. But many people consider it a D Ticket.

Theres a reason that the A-E ticket system is gone, because you can't tell people what is the best. Its for them to decide and its different for everyone.

You only hear it called an E in PR materials. That is how they are trying to pump up excitement for it.
In reality, if you actually talk to some of these folks, off the record, it's a nice D.

The "What is an E" debate is old and boring. In reality an E is whatever Disney decides it is. In years past Small World, Country Bears, and HoP were all E tickets. Now days, what are they? Maybe C?
Today, an E is ToT, Everest, Soarin, Indy, Pirates, JttCotE (and for argument's sake, let's toss in Spidey and Forbidden Journey). I guess maybe Mansion, due to it's legendary status, but in reality even it isn't on the same scale as the others I mentioned.
In order for Mermaid to hit E status, it will have to be long, very immersive, very detailed, and very technologically advanced. Think Ride and Go Seek, which sort of straddles the line between D and E. I have yet to have anyone tell me it is on the RaGS level.
So, for promotional reasons, you'll hear it called an E. Behind closed doors...it's more like a nice D that the whole family can enjoy, but not that far removed from the classic dark rides.
Trust me, I'd love to be wrong and have Mermaid be the next Indy. But it really isn't the case....or so I'm told.
Gotcha.

I don't think length is a problem, the ride track looks pretty long, as does what I think the queue will have. That appears to be detailed too, especially in ours with the Castle.

Tech, though...Does AA Hair WOW you, Lee?

Enumerate, Captain.

The animator in charge of Ariel wanted to get the proper look of hair underwater. He actually got his inspiration from watching a woman in space and the way her hair floated in 0 gravity. When he drew Ariel, he always imagined her in space. Now, how do you accomplish this in a show building on Earth? IDK.

That's the gist of it.
