1. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Carol of the Bells and O Holy Night - can't choose between the two.
2. If you could only play one Christmas CD on Christmas morning, what would it be?
Any Trans Siberian Orchestra CD
3. What is your favorite Christmas musical memory?
Our small "show-choir" in high school would dress up in traditional victorian costumes and we'd go caroling. We'd be paired off as couples and the men would carry lanterns lit by candles. It was just magical!

Come one, stop arguing, this is a Christmas thread! It's Jer's opinion and who are you to tell him that it is wrong?

I don't think Jer is wrong at all...in fact...I think he's dead accurate.

People listening to a mainstream radio station come from very different religious backgrounds...so...why play music that only attracts to one group?

Granted, this doesn't mean that they don't play ANY religious Christmas songs...it just means that they don't play A LOT of it.

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.

Oh... yeah... your right.. I am wrong... I have only been working in broadcast for 10 years.... but you know much more than I... so you’re right... I am a loutish, ignorant dolt... silly me. :hammer:

Do me a favor Captain Know-it-all,

Why don’t you go program a radio station... and deal with the public and their criticisms 24/7 . And then get back to me, OK?!   :fork:

Two stations here have begun the 24/7 Christmas music.
My favorite song is Carol of the Bells, O Holy Nite, O Come All Ye Faithful and Ava Maria.
I keep Kenny G's CD as well as Celine Dion's going all the time.
My favorite memory? I've told this story here before but here goes: My husband and I were tired as we had been awake since 4am Christmas Eve. We both had 'real' jobs back then (1997). So we decided to go take a 'nap' and wake up around 4am to do the Santa thing. Well we overslept and were awoken to hear the following: Terry: "Lil' Don, SANTA NEVER CAME!" Lil' Don (age 2) "HUH" Terry: "OH NO, I guess we were bad  ".
Don and I had to hurry up and have 'Santa' call and explain that the sled broke down and he would be over soon and we had to wisk the boys down the road for a while. I only wish we could have somehow gotten that on video.

OMG! Bless your heart! That happened to me once with the toothfairy. I totally forgot until he woke me up the next morning and said "The toothfairy didn't come" So, when he was distracted, I put to money kinda like it had fallen off the bed and he missed it. :lookaroun Whew.

 Debbie, you should've said "YEAH YOU WERE BAD YOU LITTLE BRATS!" :lookaroun

Nah...that's not right...

(Have you told them about that night? )

I can picture it now...

Deb's kids:

Our stockings were hung by the chimney with care...in hopes that our mom wouldn't fall asleep in the chair :(

I've missed the toothfairy too, but never Santa.
Although I have stayed up till 4 am putting doll furniture together... lost my wooden spoons that year when the cradle was missing a few spindles.

Something I've learned...always hang the stockings up high when there is candy in them OR lock the dog in another room.

Not when the kids are crying and the dog is :hurl: .(well maybe a little funny. )
The dog has her own stocking that the kids fill...she puts everything on her chair and then sits on top so nobody can touch her stuff!!

My Tigger (buff colored 9 year old cocker spaniel) sitting in front of the fireplace STARING at his stocking. That's all he does for the entire month of December from the very first moment that stocking gets hung from the mantle.

Just STARES at it.

Waiting.

Wagging his little non-existant tail.

"Santa will be here soon... Santa will be here soon..."

Christmas music: I am very afraid of playing Christmas music this year.... God forbid my almost three year old nephew listens to the "Drummer boy" again! We JUST stopped listenning to it three months ago! :hammer: It drove us nuts! He loved it and always asked me to play "yo po po pom" as he called it... I always had to sit online and play it over and over again with the image of a soldier (nutcracker) playing the drums!

http://www.the-north-pole.com/carols/ Enjoy!

Santa Claus story: years later I realized what really happened when my mom told my brother "you almost caught Santa ensambling your desk". We were like "darn! we missed him!"...
My cousins got coal two Christmas Eve´s because they were bad...they weren´t that little either... :lookaroun

We have 3 dogs and 1 cat - each with their own stocking right there on the mantle with our own! It's HILARIOUS to watch them practicly crawl into their stockings on Christmas morning. Gotta make sure they didn't miss anything!
