Chillin' with Magic Friends!

You do more than I do.:lookaroun

LOL...that's okay. Everyone (by which I mean Grant) thinks I'm nuts for doing it. I know it's their job and they get paid to do it...but it's sort of like a "thanks for doing a job that I, personally, would not want to do." which I hope does not sound snobby, because that's not how I intend it.

I don't think it sounds snobby. It's the same thing with custodial in WDW. No one wants to do it.

We haven't done taxes yet. I think Grant still needs some forms.

Best thing about our accountant? We pay him with beer! Expensive beer, but beer nonetheless. he's a friend of Grant's.

We got our W-2s but still waiting for one more form.
We're waiting on 2 W2s and the form from our church.

This is the last year we'll have to worry about interest paid on my student loan though... Not sure if I've shared DH and my exciting news... As of today, WE'RE DEBT-FREE except for our house!!! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

I wouldn't want to do it either but They are not nice here and think they rule the roads when they are around. And now all they have to do is sit in the trucks and push a button for the grabbers to get the big cans and dump it.:lookaroun

My DH wants to met me for lunch. I need to get cleaned up and go. I should return later.:sohappy:

Wow... Am i the only one who hasn't done it? I haven't even received my W2 from my current employer yet!

Well that is normal. They could send them out on the 31st if they wanted to.

Mine are done because not only do I get my taxes done where I work, they also do the W-2's here as well. So I was probably one of the first people on the planet to get their W-2.
I don't have any other tax forms that I wait on except student loan interest, and I just called and got the amount so I did not have to wait for the form.

Cool, so you get where I'm coming from. I would never look down on anyone's job. I look at it like this...every job is a starting point, no matter how "unappealing" it may seem to others. You can either excel at that job and rise within it's ranks(which is great), or you can use it as a place to gather your resources and work towards getting into what you really want to do(which is also great). Every job has the potential to be a win-win situation. Which is why I heart America...etc.

(steps down from soapbox):o

Thanks Susan. DH and I are really happy... and proud of ourselves.

Good for you, Kat! You and DH SHOULD be proud! :sohappy:

Most Americans will be paying for their Christmas spending through at least July.. :hammer:

Not us, though, we are like you guys... no debt except for our mortgage.

you know, in that one thread, that idea never even crossed my mind. (That's why I was so confused:lol:) Who would want to live like that?!

That's great Kristin! It must give you so much peace of mind knowing if something terrible happened, you'd be okay financially. I tell ya, when we started with my 21k in student loans alone, I was nervous. But thank God we did it!

Yeah, I could tell you didn't get that one! Honestly, it probably wouldn't have occurred to me, either, if I didn't hear so many stories from DH. He does financial advising in addition to taxes, and you would NOT believe some of the stuff he hears.... Just yesterday he told me of a couple who came in, and they had $15K in credit card debt... From things like vacations, home improvements, etc. I couldn't sleep at night if we had that kind of CC debt.
I had over 30K in student loans, and it made me so anxious.... Talk about being happy when it was finally paid off! :sohappy:
