Well, our school district consists of 20 elementary schools (K - 6), 3 junior highs (7&8) and 3 high schools plus a vocational school. The city is so far in debt now that the plan is to close 4 elementary schools, all 3 junior highs, send the 8th graders to the high school and have 3 "7th grade academies" that would essentially feed to the 3 high schools.

So, once again, Dave's position is in jeopardy.

How...on God's green earth...does moving the 8th grades to the HS and leaving the 7th graders in some kind of academy (which, what does that mean?) save money? Except for overcrowding buildings and cramming more kids in together? Also, does that mean they would close two of the three junior highs and then have all the 7th graders at one building? Also remind me which grade Dave teaches - that stinks! :(

Absolutely! Though I don't know what Asperger's exactly is, I know many people without obstacles in their path such as that have a very diffcult time getting a degree as is.

Asperger's basically means a high functioning form of autism, where verbal and academic skills are usually right on target, but social skills need some work.

BTW, I need to get the kids - I'll be back soon!

Ok, I'm off in a few. We have an...interesting night ahead of us. We're transporting all of our furbabies over to the new place. :dazzle::dazzle: We'll make 2 trips so hopefully traffic cooperates or it could be a loooong night.

Have a great one, love you guys :kiss:

The 7th grade academies would be at 3 of the closed elementary schools, 2 of the junior highs would be sold (as would the 4th elementary school), the third would be used for administration, and the current ad building would be sold. I believe they will be issuing shoe horns to each student to fit them in the buildings.

Sometimes I worry about getting married. I don't know anything about my medical history, except that I got my cat allergy from my biological mother (as well as use of glasses). I don't know why I am thinking about this now, either. It just occured to me.

yeah, I don't talk about it much. It sure made school growing up a right pain in the butt. I still have some issues with it. I am so happy that I am almost done though.

Thanks Jenny.:)
Wow...I didn't know that Jo. I learned about what that was from this last season of America's Next Top Model. Go you!

Oh my goodness. I heard about this video on the radio this morning (Idena was a guest host, to discuss her new CD). It's a Youtube video from a beauty pagaent contest. The person absolutely stinks at playing the trumpet. As to the dancing, well.....:lookaroun

She didn't seem that bad; she was just in the wrong key from what the recording was. That's why it sounded horrible beyond all reason.
