 Back.

Kat, I have astigmatism in one eye and have to do the $$ contacts too. It stinks :brick:

Hi pretty lady!

$650 just seems so much... especially when I want to save for Lasik within the next few years. I just don't know what to do...

Stupid eyes!!! :dazzle::dazzle::dazzle:

I understand...I have the same feelings as well...I really want Lasik at some point in my future as well.

Hello again - been finishing bills; I've been putting them off all weekend. :o Talked with another mom on the phone this morning about the levy - we both have autistic kids, and we're beginning to stress a little about IEPs this spring. If the levy fails, it could be a battle to get summer help for our kids.

I'm not exactly sure, but that does sound a little high. Is that for both eyes?
Yes, both eyes. I think he said $38 a box. A box is good for 6 weeks and I'd need two each time. So I think that's about $650 for the whole year.
Think I shoulc check somewhere else? My insurance just pays $80 towards contacts I think.

Anyone get HDNet or whatever it's called on cable? I think it's only available in the U.S. but I could be wrong.

Anyway, Dan Rather's covering the Florida primaries tomorrow and doing a live report from my sister's college campus. 8:00 p.m., switch over the channel to see if you can spot her in the background. (Though she probably wouldn't allow me to post a pic of herself, therefore making it an exercise in futility. )

Hey Jenny!
That stinks, {{hugs}}. How's Abby feeling, did she get to school?

Yeah, the $38 per box sounds about right, maybe a little high. But I've found that they last me alot longer than they say. I don't sleep in them and I clean them really well...I don't wear them any longer than is comfortable, but I'm still able to wear them longer than they say.

How neat! I don't think I get that though... we have satellite...

I just use the saline solution that says it's cleans them itself. I rub them gently when i take them out to try to get the extra deposits off. Is that good enough?

Yup, that's what I do. I do find that if I fall asleep in them a couple times, the don't last as long.
ah, the good part about gas permable contacts, you pay a one time cost and as long as your eyes don't change much, you can keep them for quite a while. :D (Still not supposed to sleep in them though...but, well, sometimes I just am tired...but then my eyes get kinda goopy the next morning)

Oh, i don't really sleep in them-- unless it's a Sunday afternoon nap. ;)

Yep, she went this afternoon - she's much better.

I have contacts that I think cost that much, but I only wear them occasionally, so the six month supply has lasted over a year. I need another exam in the spring to see if my prescription needs changed. I prefer wearing contacts at Disney.

I'm thinking I might do the same, or just forget it for a few months and save for Lasik. *bites fingernails*:lookaroun

Hello, guys!

Jenny, are you still here? Someone at our town's elementary school asked me if my son has an IEP, because I mentioned that he goes to speech therapy. What is an IEP?

So... my chem exam went relatively all right today. At least a 75. (But BOY was it tough, and only 90 marks, too.)

Tomorrow's my final exam with physics. There's two basic things: formulas and definitions. I know the latter off by heart and the former is already given to you on an all-purpose formula sheet.

Yeah... I'll ace this.

In other news, my dad is currently under the knife for his back. His 11th major surgery since 2001. :(
