Changes at DTD

Guess only a few of us here know. Personally I'm excited about what I've seen.

Just spill it or quit cryptically teasing. Nobody likes the "you wish you knew what I know" guy.

EDIT: On second read, that came across a little harsher than I meant it. But the point still stands.

Raven, I read you had mentioned an AC like experience before for the new area. I realize it won't be the same, but do you have any word on that and any further details on what that might entail?

Maybe we are getting a World of Color at Downtown...
No. Not a chance at all.
WoC reaquires a man-made, chemically treated lagoon.
Won't work at DTD. Or at AK for that matter.

It's unfortunately that whatever replaces AC will never be given a fair shake by fans...
Whatever takes the Club's place will be cursed. Doomed to fail due to extremely bad karma.

Not unless WDW comes up with a new version of the AC, I'm afraid....
That might prevent me from standing in the new PI and hurling insults at anyone wearing a management ID.

Guess only a few of us here know.
I seriously need to be in that loop.:D

Did you ever consider that he, Lee or others can't fully release what they know due to legal concerns or ones with their positions? How about enjoying what they can give you instead of complaining?

I don't get any--or very little insider info, usually. Just by coincidence I have gotten two bits of info in the past year, one was that they were going to redo Star Tours (I knew someone working on the film portion, way in advance of the announcement), and in this case, I saw some concept art for DTD. I have no idea if I'd get in trouble or not by sharing what I saw, so I just chose to say "BOATS". When the plans are released, you'll see what I mean. But I really don't know what the ramifications are of my saying more than that in a public forum, so I choose not to.

Lee or Raven, if you know what I'm referring to, PM me, I'd be interested if the info has gotten out at all.

Hey, just covering myself. I read all sorts of "teaser" stuff out here all the time and wish that a)I knew what the heck they were talking about, and b)that I could contribute, too. So, we're all in the same boat.

Yes, it occurred to me. And after thinking about it, I came to the viewpoint I expressed. Namely ... if you can't speak about something, stop teasing. It's something you learn when you're 5 years old. If other people like being teased, that's fine. I don't (and I think most people don't). Further, very rarely (if ever) does Lee tease or post cryptic comments.

I doubt I'll get any info, but I'll see what I can track down from my person. No promises. I got far less info on SWSA than I expected. I dont think I can get two bites at the Apple right now.

If you don't like my opinion, don't read my posts - there's an "ignore" function.
I personally am grateful for any information they choose to share, regardless of how cryptic. (Thanks guys!)

They take a risk every time they post something that hasn't been officially announced.

I don't take it personal or in a mocking way. I take it for what it is: additional information that I didn't have before.

Has it ever occurred to you that the only one being "teased" is yourself? And if you don't like being teased by them, that Ignore feature works just as ably for you.

I'm sure if raven could spill, he would. There are tons of reasons why he wouldn't be able to, so in the meantime I'm content with all of the hints. Besides, where's the fun in knowing absolutely everything about anything?

Well you can't accurately be pre-disappointed if you don't have all the information before construction starts, can you? ;)

I was wondering about that. Didn't they drain the whole thing to install WoC?
Yep. No way to install it otherwise.
To put it at DTD or AK (which they aren't...) would require draining the lake and lining it with cement.
Never, ever, happening.

I don't mind going public.
(Heck, Disney is irritated with me enough already...)
So, I'll go out on a limb and say that I have heard one thing "boat" related for PI. It would involve guests being able to rent little boats and take them out into the lake. (Paddle boats I assume, but I suppose other types would work.)
Don't know if that is what you heard, but it was mentioned to me quite a while back, and may have been scrapped long ago.

Dude, that's the entire reason I'm here!
I want to know it all.

Boats in the same way that Fulton's Crab House is a "boat"? As in a line of boat-themed attractions on the water from the current Fulton's all the way up toward Planet Hollywood?

Map_PI.jpg

Or just boat rentals...which are already available all over WDW...and not likely to make the huge profits Disney is looking for at PI.

Not sure WDW needs any more drunken Skippers on the waters anyway.....

Nah, not like that. But think more along the lines of "Nautical Theme".

Gambling boats?
:ROFLOL:

My mom would be running as fast as she can toward Disney, waving her dollars if someone put in casino boats there!
:p
