Celeb Sightings at MGM Lately?

When I was about 10 years old, my mother walked into the wrong restroom at the Crystal Palace and bumped into Ronnie Howard (Happy Days). She was very embarassed, he was very nice about the whole thing. He had his ball cap on and was holding his childs hand as he walked into my mom. We didn't know about it until she came back to the table!

Saw John Lithgow filming something in MK. He was walking over on of the bridges by the castle. He had to do his lines over and over again.

Saw Sid Caesar on the Beauty and the Beast stage at the studios, doing a Q&A.

Saw Elvira (sp? - long black hair, curvy figure...) at the Studios for Friday the 13th one year. She had about a hundred Harley motercycles escorting her down to the Tower of Terror. It was very loud standing on that street!

But my favorite was actually talking to Drew Carey in Tomorrowland. My husband, 2 girls and I were all wearing our Cleveland Indians shirts and he initiated conversation! It was pretty cool!

Celeb sighting

In 2000, I saw Wako Jako at MGM. He had just gotten the RR and was walking down Sunset. There was a flock of screaming people following him.

I acutally RODE the Aerosmith Roller Coaster with Steven Tyler himself. Got a picture of him as he was leaving through the giftshop. This was in March 2005. I already posted a thread about it with the pictures.

May of 2004, my family and I were waiting for Illuminations in front of Norway. A gate to the right of Norway opened and two golf carts came through, the first carrying George Bush (senior) and Barbara (in her pearls). The other seats and cart carried what appeared to be secret service and a few xtra guys on segways. It was fairly surreal to be in EPCOT and see a previous President zoom on by.

Also, was in Norway and the maker of Geir cologne (Geir Ness) was there. (Probably my favorite cologne)--Was kinda cool. He had a very thick accent and was rubbing hand creme on some little old lady.

I saw Mariah Carey in May of '03 at the Magic Kingdom. They escorted her in just before Spectro Magic started. I didn't realize it was her until after the parade when they escorted her back out.

I think it was about 1994 I got to see a blast from Disney past, Davy Crockett himself, Fess Parker at the Contemporary during a Disneyana convention. To me this was very cool, someone who knew Walt himself.

I haven't yet seen any celebs at WDW, but August 2004, the day right after Hurricane Charley, my family and I did see Sinbad (popular comedian from the 90s) at Universal with his family and friends.

Way back when The Studios first opened and were being used a fair amount for television production, the backlot tour would take you through an upper area of the soundstages and you could see the different things that were being filmed. Before going on the tour, there were the televisions up over the queue area and they had different actors and actresses talking about what its meant to them being involved in television or movies and they were always having new ones made to be added. So when we were on the tour, passing through one soundstage, we looked down and saw Lou Gossett, Jr recording his segment that was on the television screens a couple of days later. We also saw them filming an old "Toys R Us" commercial(one with a couple sitting at a romantic dinner, complete in their formalwear and then showing each other what they found for their kids at Toys R Us). I was vacationing the at the same time that Princess Diana was at WDW with Princes William and Harry, but didn't see her in person. The only other one that I have seen in person that wasn't part of a special event when I saw them was Mike Shanahan, the coach for the Denver Broncos. I saw him when I was working at the Bell Desk for the Boardwalk Inn and Villas. He asked where he could get just a burger in the area and I sent him to ESPN Club, knowing he looked familiar and not realizing exactly why until after he said that he was going to be there later anyway, so he might as well just go now.

We saw an Angel

On my family's trip to MGM Studios, we ran into an "angel". This was in the early 90's (1993), and we ran into Della Reese, star of "Touched By An Angel". I must say that she was one of the most pleasant celebrities I have talked to. She did not have security around her or anything. She was there with her husband and she just talked to us and was as excited to be there as we were. It was great!

Hopefully in July, I will see celebs! That would be cool!

warlord - My sister swore up and down that it was truly him.
That reminds me of the time I was in DTD with friends and just stopped dead because I swear I walked right past The Rock. How many guys could really look like that and have those sideburns?

My Mom already mentioned the Zachary Ty Bryan thing, I only wish I had realized HE'S THE CUTE ONE! What was I thinking?!?! LOL! But did you ever wonder someone on here was a celeb? How cool would that be, really? With such a large group of celebs being huge Disney fans (Steven Tyler, John Stamos, ect...) it seems like a possibility at least.:D

I've been six times and never spotted a celeb. :(
:) the family and I have been there 9 times in the last 8 years, but like you I'm more interested in WDW I do look around, great place for peoplewatching but I'm there for fun with my family, not celeb searching, if we bump into one that just adds to the magic.

George Reiger

I saw the Disney Tattoo Guy in June 2005. We were drinking beers and watching the British Invasion at the UK at Epcot. He was standing next to us, (he kinda sticks out haha.)
I recognized him and we got some pictures, he was a pretty cool guy!

He gave us the link to his homepage...
