Cars Land, Star Wars Land, Monstropolis...

Yep. My mistake. I meant the west side of DAK -- there is a path being built that connects the new FOLTK theater with Pandora. It's a long walk without anything in between.

Do you know something or just speculating?

You can see the construction towards the Pandora pad in the latest aerials as doctornick mentions above.

Heading for the great escape.
You just gave me an idea... I can start a fetish site where people can pay me to moderate simulated forums. The more power they want/posts to edit and control, the more expensive it will be.

You can offer pick your own colour bands that they can don while chopping posts

Here's what I say...

Build LucasFilm Park (or whatever they wanna call it), which would involve not only a whole bunch of new Star Wars attractions but would also allow them to build a clone of the Indiana Jones Adventure Ride and keep the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular which seems to still be popular after all these years.

Then instead of building an entire land based on one Pixar franchise or film, expand Pixar Place to include more Pixar attractions. Build The Monsters Inc. Door Coaster, The Incredibles SuperCoaster, adapt Radiator Springs Racers from Cars Land, and make a Wreck-It Ralph attraction.

That way you have more of a Hollywood "Studios" themed park. The area I have no idea what to do with is the Sunset Boulevard area. It has no theme to it at all currently with Tower of Terror, Rock'N'Roller Coaster, Beauty and the Beast, and Fantasmic all right there. All those things are so popular though that I don't see them getting rid of them at all and coming up with a truly themed area with that cluster of attractions is nearly impossible.

I like your "Simon Conwell" type thinking.

Can you imagine if WDW had one CS with food as good as Flo's?

Because that would be awesome.

No burgers, chicken fingers, or pizza.
but..but.. THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

What happens with all these projects? they have been stalled because of the MyMagic+ plan?
Thanks

I think it's safe to say that Cars Land at WDW is now dead.

That rumor got started in the Fall of 2012 when Al Lutz on Miceage reported that after the wild success of Cars Land's opening summer several other Disney properties were after it; specifically Tokyo Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The Tokyo rumor continues to bubble along, but it was reported by Miceage in 2013 that the initial plans for a cloned Cars Land for DHS were shelved after soil tests proved it would be near impossible to build the towering and massive Cadillac Range and Ornament Valley rock formations in the soft Orlando swamps.

I think there's something to that. I'd hate to be the soil engineer who has to try and keep 12 acres of 125 foot tall steel-framed rockwork upright and stable in the Orlando soil environment.

If they can build structures the size of Swan & Dolphin and the new parking garages on similar ground. Then Carsland would be no problem.

I imagine both of these would have a much larger live load and the parking garage a similar live load to Cars Land so its more to do with the will to spend the money than the engineering.

Valid points. Although Lutz and Miceage said the soil problem was a tough one to overcome around the DHS area.

I was trying to be nice. But you might be right and the only thing keeping Cars Land from WDW is the fact that TDO is full of clueless cheap nimrods who have forgotten they are in show business and they just don't want to spend the money.

Do you think Meg Crofton ever knew she was in show business? She was previously an HR exec for Disney, and folks working in corporate HR departments are infamously dull and charmless. Meg Crofton may have never understood what business she was in to begin with, the poor dear.

I think it was either jt or Jimmy Thick who were initially spreading the drivel about the Orlando soil not able to handle the ride, I would ignore anyone who said such a thing if I were you.

And yet it's been two years since Cars Land opened at DCA, and not a peep about it coming to WDW. I think it will remain a DCA exclusive in this country. Tokyo, on the other hand...
