Good Lord....

Since it's being ignored or glossed over the first time I explained it: Significant as in having a big presence in the parks.

The Disney side of the negotiations with Cameron undoubtedly knew the Lucas deal was in the works (it may have given them extra leverage and may account for the sudden turnaround). So, I doubt this would change things. Also, in my opinion, Pandora fits better overall into DAK better than any Lucas property would.

I have to agree as well, plus i think avatar can be visually stunning. DAK needs something, no way could they just drop this in favor of SW expansion. SW needs to be in DHS, they can drop carsland though

The Lucas news changes nothing.... for the moment.

It might have changed the way in which Disney and Cameron deal with one another. A few days after news leaks that Avatarland will proceed because Cameron has backed down and agreed to a scaled back, cheaper plan (which is strangely out of character given his reputation), it is announced that Disney have bought Lucasfilm and intend to bring more Star Wars to the theme parks. Is it a coincidence that Cameron inexplicably backs down just before Disney announce they now own Star Wars? Perhaps, or maybe Disney have put their foot down now that they have a new, considerably bigger asset in their arsenal . One or two people have said on here that Disney need Cameron...not anymore, that's for certain.

Yeah, though we'll likely never know the full story, this sounds plausible.

At the very least, they could say "you know, Jim, we can't spend all our money on THIS, because,
well, we now have THIS to do, as well..."

Indiana Jones would fit spectacularly into the lush environment of Animal Kingdom.

Agreed. While I'm all for a greater SW presence in the parks, I don't think anything from that franchise would work particularly well in DAK, not the way Pandora would/will.

Besides, why can't we be greedy and get both Avatar and Star Wars in the parks?
