We've never seen the movie, so once this actually breaks ground we'll rent it to see for ourselves why we will like the attraction.
Too bust spending it on mine. They don't have a clue at how to run WDW/P&R similar to how a certain Mike Ashley is incapable of spending money on our football team.
First, it was leaked intentionally.
Skyway to an extent I agree if this wasn't intentional this is a huge security breach. Too many people had them. At least 5 people went on the record as seeing them. I don't think Disney leaked them but I do think they let them be leaked I don't know of any realistic answer other than that.Spirit----
I buy into your conspiracy theory about the NYT/CBJ piece, because it makes financial sense for Disney to promote itself that way. But I don't understand how Disney would benefit by intentionally leaking these plans, if they really did.
To get the fan community excited? It's already been made clear the fan community's opinion doesn't mean anything to the company (and by your account, is openly being mocked in the NYT story). The fans are going to come no matter what.
To get picked up by mainstream media and shared with the general public? I doubt such a vague blueprint is going to improve the stock price much and give investors long-term confidence. And even if Joe Sixpack tourist in Ohio were to see this, would it really impact their decision when to book a Disney vacation? If anything, ANY "coming next" preview increases the risk a potential tourist will delay their upcoming vacation, something that is not in Disney's interest.
Ego battle with Universal? If that's the case, why leak plans? Just have a formal announcement with conceptual art, which Disney plans to do just before Universal's event.
Another way to look at this: how have leaked plans helped the company before? The FLE leak (which I believe was not intentional) actually put the company in an awkward position to rush their formal announcement before the design was finalized. There are plans floating out there now for the HP 2.0 expansion. How is Universal better off right now because a few theme park enthusiasts have some blueprints? How is that impacting current ticket sales, food purchases, and Universal's financial outlook?
I'm sure someone within the company had their own personal agenda for getting the Avatar plans out. But I just don't see why the company would back it.
Still amazed at the hypocrisy on these boards. The same fans who think Avatar is a weak franchise are also upset that Disney has supposedly scaled back the budget. So you'd rather see Disney double-down on what you truly believe is a bad bet?
Just so they are here for another 30 seconds.
Hate? Because this is a cheap, cop out. Look for the Lightstorm version with launched coaster.I really hope this gets built! I personally think Pandora is a great idea, its dripping with potential! I am having a hard time trying to understand why it is receiving so much hate? Yeh the movie story was average but the setting and backstory was spectacular! Come on TDO, make the right choice!!!
THe plans I saw had Pixie Hallow and the Chateau. But everything else was spot on.Are they close to the final product
Where did UncleWalt post the images and can anyone send me what he posted. I want to confirm whether or not they came from the same source that I received them from.
