OK guess I spoke too soon. Looks like the indoor mask restrictions for unvaccinated guests will end at Disneyland on the 17th.
Have you found any confirmation of this?

We are going to DL this weekend and every article I’ve found has been specific to WDW. Seems odd they’d do two different press releases rather than just announcing them both at the same time if DL was changing too.

I’m not getting my hopes up until I know it’s official.

E-mails are going out confirming this for Disneyland, but the website hasn't been updated yet.

I haven't seen anything Disneyland specific just yet... but my information was coming from people at Disneyland.

And yeah... I misspoke again. The masking requirements are being lifted for VACCINATED guests. Unvaccinated guests still have to wear masks while indoors. This will also include children between 2 and 5.

Certainly anyone who can't bother to be vaccinated at this point, is going to follow that rule. And there's absolutely no way of knowing. They're basically lifting the requirement for anybody.

so honor system? lol

Yeah but really... there's nothing wrong with that. Vaccination rates are getting closer and closer to 80% and with more children being vaccinated, that's going to increase every day. Cast members are being required to prove they are vaccinated as well. The only real danger now is for those that are not vaccinated, and there's no real point in enforcing mask requirements by picking fights with the most stubborn people who don't want to accept the science.

But we are at the point where many people were vaccinated over a year ago, which is, as the science says, doesn't do a lot for protection at this point

Yes it does, that's why they recommended boosters after 5-6 months. You gradually lose protection.
Yes and no, you lose active antibodies but you still retain t-cells and b-cells. So as time goes on you are more susceptible to the virus but your immune system still knows how to fight it thanks to the vaccine. The end result is more cases but they will most likely be asymptomatic or mild.

I love how it says that face coverings will continue to be required indoors for Unvaccinated guests. Hysterical!
Disney will be requiring a no-contact pinky promise from the unvaccinated that they'll be super extra good upon park entry. Breaking the no-contact pinky promise will result in having to go straight to bed with no dinner.

It's been that way since Disneyland reopened from the pandemic. Disney has never checked vaccination status and they didn't check where you came from when they were not allowing out of state visitors.

I'll have to dig around to find the article again, but one research study showed that we are more than likely immune a lot longer than originally thought. I also recently read that too frequent of boosters may be worse than less frequent.

Regardless, this is good news and I may just look into planning another trip soon. :)

Thank you, this is fabulous news! I think many of us all needed good news in today's world.
