95s don't work either. You need a 3M 7000 with a P100 filter. Have fun with that!

I've given up on masks entirely. They don't really work. I just don't wear them, and as of January 19th absolutely no one has said a word to me about it anywhere. I just smile and glide through polite society showing my pretty face.

I'm vaccinated against everything, and I have lost the weight my doctor wanted me to and I try to keep as healthy as possible for a man my age. I also wash my hands before I cook dinner. And I let ladies who look like busy moms go ahead of me in line at Ralph's Fresh Fare and Trader Joe's. I'm living my life the right way.

The pure data and facts on the LA County versus Orange County statistics prove that heavy-handed mask mandates and vaccine mandates and constant henpecking of the general public by bureaucrats or virtue signaling Karens does nothing. If any of that did something, LA County would have fewer cases than Orange County.

Instead, LA County has dramatically higher case rates, and lower vaccination rates than OC. 🤔

LA County Sanitation FINALLY updated the covid POOP count. Testing for covid residual in our local sewage treatment plants has been quite fascinating to watch during covid-

It's quite curious that the two surges in 2020 had poop counts comparatively higher than new case counts... yet this surge is drastically the opposite. Any thoughts why that would be?

This. Is. Fantastic. 🤣 😍

I had no idea this was a thing! I had read somewhere months ago that there were cities or researchers that were doing this sort of thing with sewer systems, but I had no idea it was in LA and it was trackable via website.

I'm laughing out loud at the screen and sitting slack-jawed in amazement. What an absolutely wacky time we live in. I hope we never forget it.

And yes, it is quite noticeable the complete inversion of the graphs for the Omicron surge. And yet, considering the subject matter, I'm afraid to investigate further.

Does that mean a symptom of new cases is constipation?

As we move into the endemic phase of COVID, I'm curious to know when we can drop the mask requirements. I'm not questioning their effectiveness, but I mean I don't see constant mask wearing as a part of the new normal.

In much of California, it already is not. I was out to dinner this weekend, made a Target and Ralph's run, picked up dry cleaning, got a quickie manicure, etc. Never wore a mask anywhere or even had a mask on me to put on if asked, and I was warmly welcomed by chatty and polite employees.

At small businesses like barber shops, my fabulous nail lady, etc. the employees aren't even wearing masks in OC.

In photos, the split in the stadium seemed to be about 25% masked, 75% unmasked.

Judging by the games I’ve seen on TV I’d be surprised if even 1/3 wear masks where it‘s mandated at sports… whether pro, college, hockey, football, basketball, or other. Where it’s not mandated it’s probably 20% or less though so that could technically be considered a win.

Either way when it comes to large crowds like sporting events or concerts, where guests vastly outnumber staff, compliance is absolutely horrible.

A couple points if I might:

1. First and foremost its 49ers, not 49'ers. If you're going to talk about a team in posts at least get their name right.
2. Just because there are a few well timed pictures of certain people without a mask doesn't mean they weren't wearing a mask most of the rest of the time. If one takes a closer look at some of those pics they have their masks in their hands or around their ears indicating they just took off in that moment the pic was taken.
3. I've been to many NFL games this year and for those showing pics of the stands masks aren't required to be wore all the time, even in LA County. And for the most part, except when seated in their seats, I saw many fans wearing masks when wandering around on the concourses or indoors. Sure there are some that don't, but overall I would say its closer to 60-70% follow the rules of wearing a mask out on the concourse, or more like 80-90% indoor in rest room, in suite areas, or the team stores. And while I wasn't at the game on Sunday, I can say based on my experience that its probably the case there as well.
4. And lastly while it may seem like certain posters are "getting away" with certain types of posts, the MODs do come through and clean up these threads if it becomes a problem. Even those posters that look like they are "getting away" with something have their posts deleted. This is now a huge site, and only a couple MODs to handle it. They can't be on both sides of the forum all the time.

I'm going to quote myself here, as I have one more to add.

It would seem the only reason Disneyland still has a mask mandate is because Disney themselves are enforcing it, not anyone else at this point. So if you want to know why then email TWDC or TDA and ask them why they still insist for mask wearing at their parks in California.

And I'm sure you'll get a canned response saying they are following health standards set by the CDC, etc., etc.. The reality is probably closer to having to do with the agreements with the unions, but that is my opinion.

What part of "Masks can only be removed to actively eat or drink, after which they must be immediately put back on." is being missed here? Anyone, including the governor, who willingly disobeys these rules and mandates is just as bad as anyone who is unvaccinated. Disobeying the rules and spreading covid without a care for other people.

PEOPLE. ARE. DYING.
As I said I wasn't at this particular game, just stating my experience from NFL games I have attended. If the rules for SoFi are clear, then it would seem its them that failed since they didn't do proper enforcement.

Also I'm not going to speak about a specific person and their overall actions, just explaining that a pic can be misleading since its a single second captured and that the people in the pics appear to have masks either in their hands or around the ears indicating they just took them off in the moment.

It does seem Disney has changed its stance on COVID mask precautions anytime the CDC has updated their guidance on the subject. Disney has had a indoor mask mandate since July on both coast since the CDC had posted guidance to do so . Not sure why recent post have argued about state mandates and Disney rules to enter the park. CA did not have a mandate on indoor masking until last month. Now I could see it as agreement with Unions to follow CDC guidance or lawyers saying they can use CDC guidance in court if needed vs what rules politicians put in place .

I do agree that its a Disney thing that they choose to enforce. But Disney is always on target for a big/small news story. Disney doesnt want to be a target and with this they can deflect if something happen.

Which is NOT allowed, it's clear as paint in the rules. Covid doesn't hold its breath during a photo. Anyone doing this is literally killing other people by spreading the virus.
Instead of trying to play this game of "political gotcha" why don't you just ask me if I think mask mandates should even be a thing now?

And just because I'm a nice guy I'll answer. At this point if someone doesn't wants to wear a mask they should be allowed to do so without question or fear of harassment. However the flip side of that also has to be a true, if people DO want to wear a mask then they too also should be able to do so without question or fear of harassment. I bring this last part up because of a recent encounter a friend of mine had on Saturday, he is an older gentlemen in his 70s. He was wearing a mask inside a local bar and would only pull it down while taking a sip of his drink. A younger couple, in their 20s, harassed him maliciously on why he is still wearing a mask literally pushing him and trying to take his mask off. I hadn't gotten there yet otherwise I would have stopped it. His experience reminds me of the beginning of the pandemic when certain ethnic groups were targeted and attacked. But this is what needs stop, when a man in his 70s can't even wear a mask without fear of physical attack we have a problem. And I would say the same for anyone that didn't want to wear a mask, if they were physically attacked I would call it out as well. We've made such a mess of this thing in this country, its ridiculous.

Yep, Disney is doing it because Disney wants to, not because they are being forced to by some state mandate.

Those people are just as bad as people not wearing their masks at sports games like yesterdays. Both are killing people, willingly.

So these people committed assault and no one helped? Were the cops called? Once you showed up did you not call the cops and report the crime?

If you say so my friend. But to me a couple harassing and physically assaulting a 74 year old man for wearing a mask is worse in this case, but that is just my opinion.

Why did no one report the crime? Also, once you showed up, why did you not report it? Very serious issue... you should have reported it. Perhaps the bar has security camera footage. What bar was it?

By the time I got there it had been ended by the bartender. And because my friend wasn't physically injured he just wanted to leave it alone. So no the cops weren't call, his choice. And everything remained fine once I was seated next to him.

I cant agree more.. I have this conversation often with coworkers as we drive around they get "triggered" when they see a mask wearer and make a comment. I question their thought process as to why they even care. Its like they visually seek out those wearing mask and make some comment about it even though they will never see that person again and have no idea why they wear it but they preach personal choice

Not sure if you or its been talked about but there was video that went a lil viral about a week ago about a non compliance mask wearer on Mr Toads. They were at the ride exit (As with videos doesnt show show the entirety of what happened) It appears the CM decided to E stop the ride instead of letting them go a few more feet to exit appropriately. The adult female for whatever reason decided she didnt want to wear a mask but the children still had theirs on. Instead of letting CMs handle the situation the riders in the secone ride vehicle and those filming from the line decided to yell obscenities and berate the non mask wearer making the situation worse then it had to be.

No I hadn't heard that story about Toads, but its ridiculous how bad its become on both sides.
