DCA just looks beautiful. I'm very positive I'll spending whole days there now, not just in Disneyland. I remember as a child, the family and I would get on maybe three rides at DCA, and then we'd RUN to Disneyland. It was like we were with a foster family for a couple of months and we were finally being reunited with our real parents. That won't be happening anymore!

Disney announced an AP preview for June 11 so it looks like they are not expecting any major delays here -crossing fingers!-

Also check out the cool new banner featured on the contest registration site,

Grab this chance — only for Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders — to be among the first to experience how the Happiest Place on Earth just got happier! As part of the preview, experience exciting attractions, dining and merchandise locations.

Step foot on Buena Vista Street — the main street of Disney California Adventure Park — to see the transformation. Imagine you have been transported to an idealized 1920's version of Los Angeles. Stroll past Art Deco storefronts, a sparkling fountain and see sights designed to invoke the energetic city Walt Disney discovered when he traveled to California in 1923.

And then enter a land like no other: Cars Land! Here, Radiator Springs has been brought to life and you'll feel like you've walked into the Disney•Pixar Cars movie. Cars Land comes fully loaded with exciting attractions, entertainment and plenty of Disney Character meet-and-greet opportunities. Get ready to be floored!

The expanded and re-imagined Disney California Adventure Park will open to the general public on June 15, 2012.

A new line of merch called the Storytellers collection will debut this Summer in Buena Vista Street. The products will feature a beautiful new art piece that is inspired by the new Walt and Mickey statue,

Read the full story at the link: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...to-debut-in-disney-california-adventure-park/

With just a little over five weeks to go before Buena Vista Street opens at Disney California Adventure park, here’s your first look at the art for one of the key programs, appropriately titled “Storytellers” and set to debut inside Elias & Co. While I could spend all day telling you why I’m a fan of this piece, I thought I’d turn it over to artist Noah and Product Developer Lisa Bergman, who were able to give me a bird’s-eye view on what inspired them to create this piece and on the magic that lives on in all of us.

Wow! not only a great street but some great merch as well! I love that piece. Between that and all the attraction posters I'm going to be really poor... lol

^ It is beautiful! And even better, here are photos of the restaurant interior still under construction (this one will be open to the public). And what a great story to go with it! The blog talks about the Snow White premiere and how the restaurant "will immerse guests in the post-screening atmosphere – as if they are celebrating alongside Walt and Lillian Disney, themselves."

Yesterday, we took you inside the exclusive, private 1901 which will be located at Carthay Circle Theatre in Disney California Adventure park. Today, we’re showing you the inside of Carthay Circle Restaurant, which will be accessible to all park guests when it opens June 15.

The photos above show the inside of Carthay Circle Restaurant, still under construction but close to the way it will appear when it opens on June 15. The new premier dining location will take guests back in time to opening night of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” a historic night for Walt Disney and his studio. Re-creating the excitement of that night, Carthay Circle Restaurant will immerse guests in the post-screening atmosphere – as if they are celebrating alongside Walt and Lillian Disney, themselves.

Excellent!
I had no idea that there were plans for a restaurant on Buena Vista St.
I think that table service restaurants is a huge area that DCA is lacking. This sounds like a great way to infuse a new dining option and what an amazing theme as well!
Can't wait to see it and experience it in person!

Agreed, this is the type of dining experience that DCA was missing from day one. I know some would have preferred an attraction inside but I understand why they opted for a restaurant instead.

A ride would be out of the question due to limited space, you would need a lot more room than what is available there.

Then there's the option of a film attraction but we all know those haven't fared very well at DCA.. If there's anything we can learn about the park's history is that film attractions don't attract repeat visitors and they tend to have a very short shelf life.

Also it's worth noting that without the Carthay Restaurant, BVS would only have the cafe as a food service location. This makes the best of use of the space and adds a fantastic full table service to this area of the park.

I'm looking forward to some very nice meals here! :)

Speaking of the Cafe...today I saw a gentleman on some scaffolding hand painting the Cafe signage on the side of the building. What an amazing bunch of artists that have contributed to the DCA re-invention! This is one area where Disney far outshines other entertainment establishments! Looking at Buena Vista Street, Carsland, and just ANYTHING that Disney does, it's so amazing to see the artistic detail that goes into all of it!

More Buena Vista Street details are emerging over the walls, or from the windows of a speeding monorail train. From the always fantastic weekly Dateline Disneyland update on Monday over at Miceage...

I love the "Learn to Draw Upstairs" sign. A great detail that reminds me of Main Street and New Orleans Square just the little details that matter the most.

I know, so am I.

I was a huge DCA critic and detractor, from back in the alt.disney.disneyland days in the late 1990's (when this TP2000 handle seemed very futuristic!), and I've been a critic through most of the 2000's of the fixes that Pressler and/or Eisner tried to throw at it. But since the 2010's started, I've really begun to like what DCA has become.

This last big double-whammy phase of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street is pushing me over the edge, and I'm just about to become a DCA Lover. I'll have to wait until about July when I can inspect and experience the entire park without the mad crush of AP's from June 15th to 30th, but I think my final verdict on DCA 2.0 is going to be a very good one.

Seriously. As a kid I never liked DCA. The fam and I would go there for Soarin Over California and Mullholland Madness (now Goofy's Sky School), and that was it. I never felt anything personal there. It wasn't the same feeling I got with Disneyland. As the years passed, it got better for me, but it wasn't enough. When I first heard about DCA 2.0 I knew they would finally make it a place worth going to, a place that's special.

Unfortunately I won't be able to go in June either. I had planned to though, despite the huge crowds. I've got a surgery coming up in June, so I'll be seeing DCA 2.0 sometime at the end of the year.:)
