Taking that final boat ride back from MK to Poly or Contemp, etc. The serenity of the boat ride and watching MK slowly drift away from you..SAD!

Waking up in the morning of the LAST day of your vacation.....SAD!

Getting off a ride like Space Mountain not knowing if yoyu will ever get on it again...Even though we have been going last 25 years..you just don't know!...SAD!!!!!

Planning your next trip the very next day....YIPPEE!!!!!!

What are some things that bring a tear to your eyes at WDW?

The Celebrate a Dream Come True parade gets me every time. The line "..a dream that just came true" - I look at my kids faces and LOSE IT.

I agree with you on the 'seeing MK drift away' thing.. That gets me teary eyed as well... Seeing little ones meeting their favorite Disney characters for the first time, Wishes fireworks.. Fantasmic.. All the things that truly portray just how magical of a place Disney really is. I'm 28 and those things still get me everytime.. I can only imagine how I feel when I bring my children there for the first time and they meet their favorite characters! :animwink:

For me it was having to cancel our trip this past September. I had planned it the day we got back from our Dec 09 trip. We had to cancel because if our daughter missed 1 practice for her cheer team, she wouldn't be on the team anymore, and she's always wanted to be a flyer so it was an easy pick for me.

The good thing is that they're going to Orlando for the March nationals, so we're doing 1 week of Disney then and then we're doing our usual 2 weeks this September.

Too many things bring a tear...but the first and always the one is when Tink flys out of the Castle before the fireworks..gets me everytime! This year..we are NOT going to be in a hurry to leave on the last day..no plane ride..driving..so we will pack..take aboat to the Contemporary, monorail to Poly..breakfast..and then reversal back to WL..THATS when it will start! The drive back will be planning the next one...maybe Disneyland for a Fourth of July!

Something about spectromagic gets me every time.
Wishes...not the whole time just toward the end.
Fantasmic- Only when Mickey says "Some Imagination huh?" It always puts a smile on my face and gets me teary eyed. lol

LEAVING. This one is the worse. Passing the sign that says "see you real soon" I just want to turn around and start all over again.

Seeing the WDW entrance sign, Wishes (specifically the Beauty & the Beast medley), One Man's Dream always brings tears to my eyes as well.

I get sad leaving, but I always tell myself I will be back. And by that point in the vacation I am missing my dog terribly (he is my baby and my shadow!) and I am ready to see him lol.

There are other little "unexpected" things that stir some emotions for me. Sometimes when I ride IASW (well, actually, almost every time) because that was my Grandmother's favorite attraction. She saw it when it debuted at the World's Fair and fell in love with it. She also taught me how to play the song on the organ :) Also when I see kids get swept up by the magic and meeting their favorite princess or character... it's just the sweetest. And usually when I hear a few chords of "When you wish upon a star" I get a lump in my throat.

Emotions come randomly during WDW. I got chills when Wishes began, when those single fireworks go over the castle like they do in the previews and start of films. I was all choked up watching Fantasmic! this trip; last trip, it happened during MSEP.
But something that is constant is that I get MEGA sad when I leave, I understand the "will I ever be back here again?" feeling, even though there's a good possibility it will be within the year. I'm a 24 year old male and I cried my eyes out as I stared down Main Street USA looking at the Castle on my last day in WDW. Slowly, I turned and walked out of the park back to the transportation system, looking back only to actually say "good bye, everyone" to the place in general, quietly under my breath.

  • Ah gee where to begin, pulling away from the parks the last time.
  • We specifically save the fireworks til the night before we leave. I cry every freaking time.
  • Which I guess leaves me at Wishes.
  • The sight of Magical express...
  • Thinking of planning the next one.
  • The week after I return and sit there thinking this time last week I was on...
  • The looks on kids faces when they see the castle for the first time ever.
  • Or when they see their favorite character.
  • During the American tribute and they do that Brother song.

Happy Tears...
-Rolling up to the DME counter and being told to "have a magical day" for the first time on the trip

-Passing under the WDW going into the property

-the beginning of Illuminations

-the end of Wishes

-as much as I dislike the WDW version of Fantasmic, at the very end, when Mickey seems to disappear, only to immediately reappear at the top of the mountain- pure "magic."

Sad Tears...
-The day before departure, when you go back to the resort, and you see your DME information dangling on the door handle.

-That last walk down Main Street USA, stopping near the train station to get that final glimpse of the castle.

-Leaving Epcot for the last time. I always try to stay in this park as late as I can my final night there. After Illuminations, I find a nice bench and just relax, taking it all in. I try and stay until the CM's get a bit more aggressive about herding people out.

-The entire DME ride back to the airport, particularly passing the "See ya real soon!" sign.

-Getting the Disney Visa bill in the mail when you get home and realizing how much I spent on souvenirs! :hammer:

For me, the hardest is leaving the Magic Kingdom on our last day. My wife has to grab my arm and pull me through the train station every time. I stop at least half a dozen times on the way to the bus stop to turn and look at the park entrance.
We will be taking a trip with our Daughter and Son in Law and Grand Kids in a couple of years. This will be the Grand Kids first trip. They are 5 and 2, and already talk about wanting to go to Disney World. I know it will be a very emotional trip for me. Walt Disney World has been a huge part of my life since my first trip in 1974( my wife loves the place as much as I do). I can not wait to see the looks on the kids faces when they see the castle for the first time, and meet Mickey in person!:sohappy:

Watching the kids lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance in front of the America pavilion in Epcot - I can hardly recite the pledge myself because my throat is so full...

The end of Wishes, even when I'm just listening to the soundtrack, the line "Make a wish, and do as dreamers do" just... every time, makes me tear up. ^_^
Fantasmic makes me shed a couple of tears as well.
