Brings Tears to my Eyes Every Time

I teared up at one of those "We're going to Disneyworld" commercials last night. My hudband made fun of me for at least 10 minutes - thank goodness he had to leave for a game or he would have been mocking me all night!

I agree with all these that were posted by someone else:

Sad Tears...
-The day before departure, when you go back to the resort, and you see your DME information dangling on the door handle.

-That last walk down Main Street USA, stopping near the train station to get that final glimpse of the castle.

-Leaving Epcot for the last time. I always try to stay in this park as late as I can my final night there. After Illuminations, I find a nice bench and just relax, taking it all in. I try and stay until the CM's get a bit more aggressive about herding people out.

-The entire DME ride back to the airport, particularly passing the "See ya real soon!" sign.

Leaving the MK on the last day, looking down Main Street as you approach the train station is just heartbreaking. As much as I am looking forward my trip in 2 weeks, I'm dreading leaving in 3. It gets harder and harder to leave each year.

Oh! Also, during Wishes. The chorus at the end... after "and all our wishes... will come true...." and then it goes into "Like a bolt out of the blue", with the HUGE fireworks. I always tear up there. That song, in general, since I saw Wishes the first time, makes me verklempt!

Our very first trip was back in 2000....my nephew was 7 at the time....we went for his birthday...my sister had planned this trip all year for his birthday gift, and when he turned 7 on October 12, he got all "Disney" related items, the last one was a stuffed Sorcerer Mickey holding his airline ticket....we left 2 days after his party and that 1st night there, we went to the MK to see the parade and fireworks...there were just 4 of us that trip..my sister and nephew, our dad and me....my dad put my nephew on his shoulders to watch the fireworks and i looked up at him and saw him crying...we asked him what was the matter......very sweetly and innocently...he replied...."I'm just so happy to be here!"....now every trip, that first night we do the fireworks and parade at the MK...NO Matter what, I start to cry when I think back to that first trip~!!!.....this year, should be good....15 of us going and 6 of them 1st time to WDW!!!! CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sohappy:

I TOTALLY agree with you! Ohhh the last day, I always try to keep busy so I don't have to think about it. Last year on the last day I went to the magic kingdom and I took the boat back to fort willderness, and yes I did get teary eyed. And when the castle fades away! It's sad. But you can always look forward to your next wdw trip!

i agree that leaving the park for the last time/on your last day is always the hardest. for me the moment REALLY hits as we get into our car. we live 2 1/2 hours north of wdw so we always have a car available but once we park at our resort we strictly use wdw transportation so getting into the car to drive home always feels awful. i also get teary seeing the faces of whatever 1st timer i bring with me. the look of amazement on a persons face when they're visiting for the first time, no matter what age, is beautiful to me.

Taking that final boat ride back from MK to Poly or Contemp, etc. The serenity of the boat ride and watching MK slowly drift away from you..SAD!

Waking up in the morning of the LAST day of your vacation.....SAD!

Getting off a ride like Space Mountain not knowing if yoyu will ever get on it again...Even though we have been going last 25 years..you just don't know!...SAD!!!!!

Planning your next trip the very next day....YIPPEE!!!!!!

What are some things that bring a tear to your eyes at WDW?

Well, if your worried about Splash Mountain disappearing like Horizons thats not happening, they had a refurbishment on it last year and another one this year. Im always worried about the Fountain of Nations shows leaving and I am always afraid they are going to screw up It's a Small World.
