Breaking News: Space Mountain Rehab

While the news appears to be much better than it could have been (although not nearly as good as it could have been either), I'd caution all the boys and girls to wait until work gets done before jumping to any conclusions.

Although it is very safe to say that the longer this puppy is closed, the happier you are likely to be when it reopens.

I'll agree, but the way things have been going lately, even a small victory seems like the rebels blowing up the Death Star.

If true this is fantastic news and this complainer here is more than happy to proclaim this a great thing.

(See we don't complain when things get done right).

I've wanted new track, new cars, audio, and new post show. It seems all of that is happening now. I'm a happy camper.

Any word on whether the track layout is still going to remain exactly the same (I imagine it will if the supports stay) or will we see any change to the track layout?

I just hope that the moog music and star tunnel music are saved but enhanced with new speakers, etc.

I also hope the queue windows remain.

Wasn't there a press release that said something about retaining classical elements? :lookaroun

As for the post show.....I reallllllly hope they move robo boy and robo dog back to where they used to be.....filming us so that we understand why we are on TV.....and damn......wouldn't it be cool if they offered a home of future living 2.0 ala intergalactic home living. :D

And maybe a random videdisc player here or there :zipit:

Complete with Space Mountain exclusive merchandise. (And no HSM stuff)

Yes, better yet, retroish SM shirts!

Tis sad that all SM has currently is the "triple mountain" shirt.

Can we expect unload to change at all? That dark, dingy room that is currently unload is sort of creepy...

Lee...you just made my night. I almost don't care that I have thermodynamics and industrial electronics homework due tomorrow morning...almost.

All I took away from thermo was the rant my professor went on about entropy being the devil and trying to destroy god, who apparently is enthalpy

I'd like to have an actual story to the ride, like you're going on a deep space exploration mission, and then have the post show explain what you found. But that's just me.

Hahaha now you too will remember that analogy for years to come  I had the same professor for heat transfer later and when none of us could answer anything he asked who our thermo teacher was.

cricket. cricket.

even with triangles the ride would be dark enough that you would never know that it was unfinished.....like them draping star curtains over an unfinished postshow :lookaroun

Space Mountain's story is strange

You leave tomorrowland....whether it be day or night.....and enter Space Mountain.....Space Station 75

You go through its various areas as windows look out into cosmic displays.

You enter the Space Port itself....two mirror image rooms though this idea is a bit strange when this is an open air ceiling with the peoplemover going by.

you leave the space station 75 via a lift hill which goes past an explorer ship in the repair bay.....even though the astronuats never move, nor do the people in the control booths..:hammer:

and then you head off on "a journey through time and space" past galaxies, sweatshirt moms, and film projectors before you encounter a red worm hole that brings you safely back to space station 75.

what would a space theme ride be without chicken wire :king:

even though SSE's chicken wire has been upgraded to grid cross-hatched wire
