Breaking News...Fifth Gate

Back to Fifth Gate for a moment, I have a feeling this is where the night park was supposed be that Jim Hill wrote about several times. I'm going to get a hold of those designs and see if they match the patterns I see on the property. If it does match without a shadow of a doubt, MODERATORS, do I have your permission to break this as news?

If it is where Night Kingdom was/is going to be then they must have started work on that park back in 1969 since most of those shapes are there in the aerials from that time.

Break what news? That Disney has plans they've never brought to fruition?

I posted it a few weeks ago in my main monorail thread.
Sorry dude, couldn't find anything. Just a general, non specific route indication and a patch of white next to Horizons. I can't see anything that's definate proof of footers being built and of covered. I've also checked my collection of aerial construction footage of EPCOT Center (unreleased stock footage) and there's nothing there either.

Paramount has a renewed interest in entering the theme park business at a level well above the chain they sold off to Cedar Fair. Part of the dealings with The Walt Disney Company regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a new and unique theme park arrangement that will give Paramount access to the incredible resources of Walt Disney Imagineering. The ultimate manifestation of the deal will be a new Paramount branded theme park on Walt Disney World property but located outside of the gates that mark the Resort for the public, utilizing the long delayed Flamingo Crossings as a base for the park's hotels and some shopping and dining.

He is right that the plan showing the monorail line going between Horizons and where Wonders of Life will go does line up with what rectangle in the aerials, but that's hardly conclusive evidence. I also looked closely at the picture where he said "showing clearly the buried monorail infrastructure " but I don't see anything.

Thanks. I found them, and can't see myself either any footers being buried. I've located the positions of the proposed pylons infront of Energy, yet from multiple construction images I have of ghe area there is no evidence these were ever built let alone covered.

I just posted the overlay (blue print superimposed over satellite imagery) in the other thread. I'll repost just the blueprints in half hour (going to Starbucks).

If they were putting in the footings for the DHS spur in the pictures you posted, then why don't we see the switches for that spur in the construction pictures?

Not the shapes I'm referring to, which weren't in those earlier images!

Which other thread? You've taken over more than just one other thread. You really should consolidate.

But anyway, can you please link to your overlay directly?

I checked the plans for Flaming Crossing on the SFWMD web site and the cleared area just to the right of the Tram-Bus label and the little dirt road connecting to paved roads to the right was part of the Flamingo Crossing Phase 1 construction. It's refered to as a "Compensating Storage Area" in the plans. Maybe Tom can tell us what that actually means. I think the shapes you are seeing are naturally forming, especially ones in the area label Central Plaza. If you look at the topographical maps of the area a you can see that a lot of those shapes are caused by changes in elevation.

Sorry, I overlooked this. Is the circled area part of Flamingo Crossing? Yes or no?

You tell me!

I've not found any blueprints showing this monorail line. And I've quite a few. I have got vague impressions showing the general line, but no actual architectural diagrams showing it came anywhere near being built.

Believe me, I'd like to know as much as you.

You realize you've fired up over a dozen various monorail threads, right? Confusion shouldn't be unexpected....
It's all the same thread. Different messages. Same page, in fact. Posted just a few minutes apart. I recommend reading the posts after and before those too.
