Brazil to join the World Showcase at Epcot

I believe you but that is as the contract stands now. For all we know that contract is already being renegotiated.

Umm... We DO know, and the contract is NOT a contract, but a licensing agreement, and as long as Universal lives up to the current agreement, Disney cannot just decide to cancel it. The agreement states certain things that Universal must do at a minimum, and as long as those minimum's are being met, Disney cannot alter the agreement. What Disney CAN do is sit back and collect the $1.8billion a year for the licensing fees, laugh all the way to the bank, and promote movies, collect licensing from toys, comic books, other Marvel business ventures (which is what Disney REALLY wanted) and then re-visit the character additions in the future.

Regardless, there was a lot more to this deal than the "Hulk parading down Main Street". Disney learned a lot from letting Six Flags license and sell their products in their theme parks, and took it to the next level when Marvel became a prime target for acquisition. Let someone else do all the marketing, all the legwork, spend all that money for product branding... We still get our $$$

This has been posted in the wrong thread. We are discussing Brazil joining the World Showcase in this thread. Discussion pertaining to Marvel-Disney can be found here...

You're right. Please tell me what page in the shareholders report the inforation regarding Brazil is? I'll pull out my copy and read it to verify it.

Maybe Venom is the lead character for Brazil? You know, the space slime that takes over Peter Parker, who became Spiderman from the Brazilian flying spider bite?

Now THAT's a cool incorporation of Marvel and Brazil in Epcot!

How many times do I have to say it hasn't been announced yet? I know we are all excited for this new addition but we need to be patient. Brazil wasn't built in a day.

My friend told me that they're completely retheming WS so it will no longer be countries, but different Marvel comic books.

But will each comic be from a different country ?

Dr. Doom is from some European country

Cap is from the US

Wolverene is Canada

Silver Samurai is Japanese

Perfect tie in's. Keep the countries and overlay with the Marvel Universe.

Heck, they could even make outer space land and have a giant walk-in Galactus there.

Right next to sarcasimville.

OK- then where in the report, for the budget/bucket line items, for say, R&D, Marketing, and Logistics, can I find this information?

These three small details are in the report for YEARS before an announcement comes... And I didn't see them there.

Brazil isn't even on the Bluesky list.
