Brazil Pavilion in Epcot?

Would be nice if Disney was finally adding an attraction in the Japanese pavilion's show building.

Maybe a ride based on the Tokyo scene in Cars 2!!!

Sorry, I just wanted to see if I could make anyone's head explode with the thought of Mater shoved into the WS...

I would be quite happy to see a martial arts show in Japan. I think it would be an excellent addition. Ninjitsu, karate, samurais, etc.

I doubt that Disney would ever add a "fight" show. Yes, I know they sell swords, and that it is a demonstration of skill, but it just plays bad for people who don't think about it.

A "fight" show? Who said anything about that? I believe what was suggested by the above poster was a martial arts show... two very different things my friend.

Cool idea. What if they really cranked it up and made it into a choreographed show based on 12th century Japan. Some sort of stage show, and the ninja's attack from the rooftops. An amazing live battle occurs. Fun.

I wish they'd just do it already, so all the Brazilian tour groups could just congregate there instead of taking up space in the parks with their loud singing and yelling and dancing around! :ROFLOL:

We just got home 20 minutes ago. After this trip I couldn't agree more with your statement. Half of Latin America was there and most of them earned their reputation. Bumping into me in line, creeping on our backs in line, being loud and chanting and trying to cut in line and in front of us during parades. If Disney would send me an email telling me when they had large Latin groups coming in I would reschedule our trips.

I've been to the parks hundreds of times and witnessed these groups in the parks many times as well. Ive never seen them try to cut a line. Ive never seen them push or harm anyone else in the park. The only time ive ever heard them chanting is before fantastic and they stop before the show starts.
Yes it sucks being stuck behind a large group in a line for a ride. Yes they can come off as loud a boisterous sometimes, but they have a right to be there just like anyone else. For most, it will be there once and a lifetime trip. I think too many people on the boards take 1 or 2 isolated incidents and blow them up into something they are not. People act as if the tour groups are attacking people in the parks. If you dont like the tour groups, use google to find out when they come down the most and dont go around those times. Its not that hard.

As long as they're not doing the wave at Fantasmic, I'm OK with anybody. :)

Ressurecting this thread.

Anyone heard anything further on Brazil? Any progress? Still in development? Dead?

I don't think it was ever really alive. Remember, this all started with an article from a Brazilian newspaper with no confirmation from either Disney or the Brazilian government. Whenever a new pavilion comes, I would imagine its announcement would include some significant fanfare.....

You mean like chanting?

These two statements are almost entirely incongruous. And in fact, they actually do not have a right of any kind in this respect, but are afforded a certain privilege with the price of park admission. That privilege can and should be revoked when their behavior crosses certain lines.

I would argue that other visitors have a "right" not to have their vacations disrupted by obnoxious (insert any noun that applies here, but in this case it's foreign teenagers) drawing attention to themselves incessantly and having fun at other peoples' expense. (There's another thread running right now about ride ruiners. The Brazilian tour groups, in my opinion, are park atmosphere ruiners.) As I always stress to my children when we visit any public place, enjoy yourselves, but don't spoil the experience for those around you and remember that what you do affects others and can have a profoundly negative impact, no matter how much fun and innocent it may seem to you.

In truth though, it's most likely the adult chaperones more than the teenagers themselves who are to blame for the groups' abrasive behavior. They do a horrible job (if they do any at all) of directing and controlling those kids.

Agreed. Visiting any park or sporting event, movie, play etc. isn't a "right". It is a privilege. Yes, I know that cultural differences exist but that doesn't mean that those differences make it "OK" to disrupt others enjoyment. Every trip my family has made over the past decade or so to WDW has been disrupted by these groups- wedging into viewing spots for fireworks at the last second, chanting and singing in lines, in rides, running into people...general rudeness. Their chaperones are a joke as is their reaction to you when they pretend to not know what you are saying when you ask them to settle their groups down or complain about specific individuals. They certainly seem to understand English when it is announced over a public address system at the park.
I went to the D23 Expo and spent a lot of time at Disneyland and Calif. Adventure. What a relief...no South American tour groups and thereby none of the aforementioned behaviors. The difference was really like night and day. I really wish Disney would seriously discuss this problem and lay out some behavioral guidelines for these groups before they come to the parks and enforce them once they arrive. No group chanting or singing in lines or in attractions and no "cutting" or barging in on folks at the last minute. Simple.
