It's virtually impossible to know what is dead and what is alive with this company in 2019. This project was for sure green-lit as most people are aware. I have heard that a couple of months ago it was "off again." I would continue to assume this will happen, but I guess we will know it when it happens.

What’s alive with the company was announced at the D23

What did you say?

You’re seriously asking someone to repeat a post that was either:

Against the forum rules

or

A reply to, or in some way connected to, a post that was against forum rules?

Not a good idea.

And to @WowFactor, I’m going to kindly suggest you should review the forum rules. If you somehow contribute to a conversation that is political, for example, then your post is likely to be deleted even if it isn’t specifically reported.

The thing that gets me about this whole situation is that presumably once sponsors have committed to putting up the money it would be in Disney's interest to get them to sign on the dotted line and cash the cheques as soon as possible.

It seems unusual to me that a group of outside companies and Disney would agree to fund such a project then everyone would be content to just sit around twiddling their thumbs for several years unless there was some problem with it actually being green lit and built. Surely one or more of the sponsors would have tired of the glacial pace at which this is moving and decided they were no longer interested? If they haven't yet, Disney should be worried they will if they don't formally announced it or at least begin construction soon.

Brazil Pavillion would be in win win for TWDC and Brazil. POTUS Obama when he made a surprise visit to many and spoke in front of the castle at MK. He talked about how tourism is so important to the central Florida economy. He also talked about the Brazilians and easing the process for them to come visit the USA. Disney's interest in Brazil actually started in 1941 when Walt and his group flew to Brazil to promote democracy during the early part of WW2.

I for one completely believe it.

They have a mega conference to push sales in late August...don’t say a whole lot...then ebenzer chapek wakes up on October 1st with Christmas spirit, says “god bless us, every one” and announces another $750 mil or so in capex randomly with no potential to profit off it.

And since it’s 72 hours a way...it will be buried on the 6th bulletpoint somewhere.

This is completely true.

What I think happened:

Disney: Hey, we will build Brazil, anyone wants to Sponsor?
Sponsors: Yes, we will sponsor!

... no paperowrk signed yet
... political drama happening in Brazil...

Disney: Hey sponsor, sorry, we will put the project on hold for a while. We'll give you a call when we're ready to close the deal.

Could it have something to do with Brazilian regulators apparently reassessing the Disney Fox deal? Maybe an epcot announcement was contingent on a promise made by Brazilian regulators that they didnt end up keeping? At the time this rumor started it did seem like it could have been a bargaining chip to get approval for the Fox deal in Brazil I'm thinking someone didnt keep their promise either Brazil failed to keep their word that their wouldnt be any more regulatory issues and Disney backed out as a result of the deal being reassessed.
