Rumor Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

At this point, since we care so much about governments that don’t match our personal politics, let’s boycott Disney for building Shanghai DL in a Communist country and insist they yank the pavilion out of Epcot.

Then we can scrub IASW of all references to various countries because the American-made plastic dolls are appropriating other cultures, and the traditional garb is racist anyway.

/sarcasm off

The nonsense never stops.
THANK YOU!!!! 🤣

As for the Brazil pavilion, I am totally in favour of them building it whatever I may think of the government of that country. If you were Disney, though, I can see why you might want to wait a little while until the country is out of the news for negative reasons. They don't have to announce it to start building it, either.

Politics discussion is not allowed so I'm not going to post anything regarding that.

I think it makes some sense to try to avoid negative news stories that would cloud any major announcement if you're a corporation like Disney. I don't know where this project stands, but would you really want to be announcing it right now? Why not wait a few months until Brazil is hopefully out of the news. If any press release right now talked about celebrating the rich natural environment of Brazil, where is everyone's mind going to immediately go? It's the same with anything. Would they, for example, have announced the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster right after the controversy about James Gunn's old tweets emerged?

I think IP gives rides 'curb appeal'... something familiar to a guest in the park to draw them into an attraction. After that, as Martin suggests, it's got be a 'good ride' so they want to go again and again and tell their friends (and Instagram followers) great things about it.
Yes, just like the GotG coaster is the right step in a better direction for Epcot. WDW and whatever is added ( if anything ) to World ShowCase will hopefully get more Excellent IP rides.
Maybe they should just move over It’s A Small world over from the MK instead of this country getting a pavilion

Heh. I admit that I'm not 100% sure that my meaning in my last post was clear based on the replies. Lemme make sure of it.

I've been sure this is happening, although given my neurosis, I always have that little voice in the back telling me to be cautious. Cautious as a serpent, innocent as a dove.

But in the end, there's been statements from reliable sources on this board that this is happening, and even though it didn't get announced, I was sure it had to come soon, right? Right?

Then I read that post, that description of things. 'We *are* getting Brazil. It is happening. The WDWMagic sources are saying this is happening. The wheels are turning. D23 is happening in a hot minute. Here comes the announcement!'

And that was last D23. That was 2017. It read word-for-word like this thread. History repeated itself, and with just as much going into that and then having us stand here two years later and still not being any farther... I still hope, but I can't say that doesn't rattle you. I trust the sources. I just don't trust it's impossible to get this far without it delaying two more years and/or getting cancelled.

Building a new country without an attraction(and I don’t mean another film) is the same to me as not building any at all.

ZERO interest from me. How much eating, drinking and shopping do I need after plunking down a $100+ to enter a theme park?

Spend the money to fix JII instead. Of course, that won’t help promote “Park of the Endless Festivals”.

Big thumbs down to an attraction less new country.

Now that Brazil is dead in the water, what will he coming instead? Argentina?? Walt used to visit there a lot. Come up with a nice ride attraction.
