No. As usual you have it all wrong. If you had it right, then you might actually be contributing something to this thread, this discussion, this forum ...
Says the guy who took my original statement completely out of context to make it about something that happened years ago that I don't even think I commented on.

Of course, I may have. It's not like I get embarrassed and delete my post...

As for this announcement, meh.

Something will be approved. The timeline will be too long and the budget will be cut and folks here will pick it apart, perhaps justly or unjustly. I guess that passes for contributing and critical thinking.

FINALLY some Hollywood Studios (or whatever it is to be named) news. FINALLY. Now we wait another five years for it all to finish ... LOL ... and the threads complaining about the walls ... and the threads complaining about what is or isn't coming ... gonna be a fun couple of years.

It's really about time they got a move on with this. I'm also encouraged they seem to be pulling the trigger on the parking and road entrance. FINALLY some encouraging news. Now let's just see what they announce ....

I guess with DHS getting so much attention will there be any time for Epcot, more specifically FW?

Seriously dude?

Attendance wise, I can prove that DHS is a flaming dumpster fire that is in dire need of help right now.

Epcot will need help and improvements at some point, everyone does realize that. They need to actually do something with Future World, yes.

Epcot is nowhere in the dire straits DHS is in.

If you understand how BOD meetings are arranged they can change on a dime or be scheduled months in advance. The key here is this: Whatever Iger is purposing the DESIGN and BUDGETS are done. He only brings the BOD for the FINAL......everything is DONE......the BOD only votes when the COSTS, PLANS, LOGISTICS, DESIGNS and ANALYTICS can be shown in its entirety. They are not flown in for a tour or regular meeting!

Are they staying there or simply meeting(which is what they usually do ... yes, in rooms, not meeting rooms) there? Been told that Iger, at least, is staying where he always does -- the Grand Flo.

Oh, and they always make things LOOK perfect when the upper management is around. They don't ever see reality. One thing I always liked about Michael Eisner was when he'd go off on his own and just show up somewhere and look around and talk to CMs and/or Guests. That just isn't in Bob Iger's nature.

Eisner had a penchant for showing up incognito to random Disney Stores all over the place if he had an opportunity to. He wrote about it himself in his book. He spoke about liking to see how things really were and whether or not things could be improved. He also apparently liked to see if any employees were high performers who could exemplify what he wanted to their peers.

EPCOT has about 5 years until you will see change. Budget permitting!

I would imagine the ancient Mermaid and One Mans Dream will be next. They seem to be waiting a bit before SoA and HISTK close. Perhaps they want Toy Story Playland open before they close the rest?

Do we know the status of the popcorn lights that frame the Grand Flo roofline(s)? Curious if it's lit up like an Aggie on spring break while Mr. Big is on site

Are you suggesting that Bob and the Board are too good to eat like the commoners?

I know that a CM at BWI told me that they need to have the gym ready to go at 435am with fresh cucumber and Evian. Not sure if it is true, but I can see that happening for extra special Disney Guests.

I just asked the question: What other silly things must you do? Bc I was surprised that rooms that were just refurbed on Club Level would get more work done after less than a month.

A bus driver told me the same thing!

Disney could spend $10 trillion dollars on WDW (everything we could dream of) and we would be ecstatic...for a day. We'll then start asking, speculating, and fighting about what comes after. But not before we complain about construction time first. The Happiest Place will continue to elude us. The kids will be alright though.

I think Boardwalk may be for it's logistical/security purposes. Others here would know much better than I, but I recall reports of quite a few celebrities and politicians who stay there and I've always assumed that was why.
GM always put their execs up their too.

I knew an individual that was part of GM's EP Team ... GM holds it's Global Leadership Conference every 3 years at the Epcot Resorts, with 250 of the top automotive execs in the world visiting and they did it for a number of reasons ... it is one of the easiest and fastest in and out areas on property ... the Swan and Dolphin have the 'Presidential' Suites that took up the entire top floor so they were very easy to secure for the top execs ... the area can be completely locked down if necessary ... the hotels in this area are also closest to Reedy Creeks main branch for Fire and Medical ... the head of WDW Security is positioned in this area ... helipads are close and the hotels in this section also have the most amount of convention space of anywhere on property.
