Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

As far as anyone trying to figure out how/why Riri fits into all of this, here's the thing. If Shuri becomes the Black Panther, SOMEONE has to head up her lab while she's a bit busy.

If anyone paid attention to the end scenes of the first movie, its very possible they have already hinted at how/why they are going to introduce Riri in Wakanda Forever.

T'Challa and Shuri go to Oakland, CA. where they are to open the first Wakanda Outreach and Technology Center. Shuri will be heading up the technology and information exchange at the center. Riri could be attending some classes or go to a presentation at the center and becomes friends with Shuri and T'Challa who invites her back to Wakanda.

This could also be where they have T'Challa being killed, and thus why Riri ends up building the Ironheart suit to go after his killers. This would be almost mirroring Tony's story in Ironman where he builds the suit and goes after his captors. So it would poetic in a sense if they did that since Riri has always looked up to Tony in the comics.

Also to give a little more credence to the Oakland connection, the head writer for the Ironheart series Chinaka Hodge is from Oakland.

Pre-sales have been pretty dismal for this (compared to top-tier MCU and the first BP). Much worse than No Way Home and DSMOM. They've been on par or less than Thor4. Chadwick's passing may have much more of an impact than some of us thought.

They need to ramp up marketing big time. Ticket sales with a suddenly dropped trailer won't cut it. They need to push TV spots, push it during televised sports events, put up highway billboards, webbrowser banners, and whatever else. This is a major event film. They need to market it as such. But ChEapek probably won't allow it.

Why don’t you actually wait for the movie to release and you actually see it first? But maybe Tenoch Huerta is too fat for you, so maybe not?
Exactly. There is a difference between watching a trailer and thinking "That really doesn't appeal to me" versus thinking "That movie is terrible because xyz and listing the reasons why you probably won't like it and arguing that everyone else should agree"

The opposite is also true.

How much evidence do people need? I don't need to see Z, if I've already seen A through Y.

.... And Yes Tenoch Huerta still doesn't look like Submariner.

Problem is you haven't seen A through Y. You've seen 2 minutes of a 2 hour 40 minute movie, and the character was on screen what, 2 seconds? You've seen a quarter of A and jumped to Z. You could be absolutely right the fit will be forced and not work, but I don't think there is any way to make that definitive a statement off a trailer that doesn't even really give a plot line. I honestly have little hope for this movie based on the first (pretty sure they are having similar time constraints issues the first one had, horray garbage CGI) and I feel like all this was thrown for a loop with how the one main actress was acting/statements she was making, but I'm not going to say thus character doesn't fit yet.

Given the subtext of your post. I’m surprised you’re wasting this much energy on a movie you will never like.

You know nothing of the plot, but are upset with Ironheart’s appearance. You haven’t seen his performance, but you’re upset with Tenoch’s skin color and muscles. If your enjoyment was this dependent on arbitrary things? Just sit this one out. It will be ok.

I'm a Marvel fan, and have liked or loved every movie til Phase Four. Even the much maligned "Thor: The Dark World" was okay.

I know the plot (for Black Panther), many people do and that part sounds really good. The things I don't like are Sub-Mariner's appearance and the fact they are shoehorning another character in. That doesn't belong in a Black Panther movie.

You are of course misunderstanding again. I'm talking about every MCU movie and series that has come out. Except for Miss Marvel and She-Hulk (which is so awful I couldn't watch it).

Can't wait to get the "Wakanda Forever: Art of the Movie" book (if there is one). I recently got the book for the first one digitally (it was like $500 for the hardcopy, $25 for the digital lol). It is AMAZING!!!

Also can't wait to get the score/soundtrack!

Really? You know the plot? The whole plot? Every beat of the plot? How so when its a well guarded secret within Marvel? Or is this another one of those things you've gotten from a Reddit or Youtube speculator that most likely ends up being wrong?

If you really know the plot, go ahead and share it in a spoiler tag and we'll see in about a month if you were right or not.

I’m curious how this will do at the box office, my guess is it’ll be an average Marvel movie but not the phenomenon the first was. I think people have underestimated just how big the press around the “first black superhero” movie was. This movie won’t have the free press the first did, Disneys going to have to pay to advertise this one.

As with all current Disney movies I’m also curious how D+ will factor in, personally I’ll be waiting to watch this for free on D+ just like I did Thor and all the other recent Disney movies.

I think that first weekend is going to be big because there will be a lot of people who want to see how the movie does without Chadwick. How it holds will be the big question.

That could be the big X factor in all of this. As I had said earlier, there's a lot of things that could factor into this coming in around love and thunders box office. I know I most likely won't be seeing this at the theater. Especially since I know it will be on D+ not to far down the road. I'm guessing I can't be the only one who feels that way.

As an aside regard Namor’s “ethnicity” I always thought in the comics that he looked “Mediterranean” for lack of a better word. Perhaps influenced by the idea of Atlantis being a Greek myth. I never particularly thought he looked East Asian until recent years when I saw people online wishcasting the role and suggesting Asian actors. I think it’s fairly arbitrary anyway as Namor looks different when drawn by different artists.

You can really tell that the cast, and especially Ryan himself, truly poured their heart and emotion into this and let their love for Chadwick speak through their work! November 11 cannot come soon enough!!!
