Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

His character was decent, but in all honesty, I don't think we'll miss much by not having him. Already too many characters.

First look is set to be shown at SDCC. 10 more days!

SPEECHLESS!!! That was WAY beyond my expectations! Lots of Namor and Atlantis and RAW emotions from the cast!

My only hang-up would be that they made the water people blue and looks just like Navii (one month later). Maybe Coogler can somehow change their color or at least their tone?

It's a good thing Aquaman 2 got pushed back, otherwise we would have had THREE water-based movies in less than a month.

Anyway, I think Black Panther: Wakanda Forever looks amazing. Ryan Coogler was dealt a terrible hand with the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, but I think he's managed to pull the sequel off.

The Atlanteans are traditionally blue in the comics, so its very comics accurate when it comes to the color of their skin. So I don't see Disney/Marvel or Coogler changing their skin color just because Avatar comes out a month later.

Looks cool, but I have no idea what the film is about. Which is either a good thing or not.
I said to my wife, hey the black panther trailer dropped. As soon as it finished she turned to me and said, that's great, but what the heck is it about. Lol

I enjoyed the trailer, but I still stand by this could be a very so so movie. Hopefully they found a way to make it work. Personally I think they should have just recast.

I wasn’t really very impressed by the trailer and am still very nervous about this series. I am firmly in the “they should have recast” camp and think we needed to have more of T’Challa’s story told. I hope it works out and the movie is as fantastic as the first.

Excited to have Namor join the MCU though.

Yeah, kind of my thought too. It's the same issue I had with the avatar trailer. As one of the few who has the first black panther movie towards the bottom of their MCU rankings, this doesn't really have me personally super hyped up.

The official synopsis is:

"In Marvel Studios’ 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,' Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda."

The main antagonist will be Namor, who in the comics is the king of Atlantis. They may rename Atlantis in the movie to avoid Aquaman comparisons.

It's been rumored that the movie's original plot was to have the Atlanteans and Wakandans go to war due to a longstanding feud between T'Challa and Namor. In the wake of Chadwick Boseman's death, I think the plot was rewritten so that the Atlanteans are invading Wakanda to take advantage of the power vacuum left in place by T'Challa's death.
