Update -

BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER (Disney) previously dated on 7/8/22 moves to 11/11/22

The article also mentions the film wraps production late November.

"The moves will push Black Panther: Wakanda Forever from Ryan Coogler off its date to November 11, 2022. The movie is currently shooting in Atlanta and will wrap sometime late next month."

Apparently this is being reported on ALL sites, so I just picked one at random. This film really has nowhere to go.

THR has just debunked that.
And while we're here ... Letitia Wright and Black Panther 2 started trending Thursday with some rumors coming in from the lowlands.

We did some digging and sources close to the production say Panther 2 is indeed on track to resume production in late January in Atlanta. With Wright.

I don’t know if it fully debunked it. They did say this production isn’t under the mandate, but future would be.

So it is still very plausible that she will finish this film then part ways, if being unvaccinated is true that is.

That was my understanding of what I read. Not that Wright was being dropped from Black Panther 2, but that she wouldn't be back for any future movies.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I really like this idea. It serves several benefits to the overall story. For one, it honors the character of T'Challa (others may disagree). It also sets up for future stories that can take place years after this one. It also satisfies the idea that Letitia Wright (rumored) wants to call it quits after this one.

I've always thought Black Panther can be its own franchise and doesn't have to rely on the other Avengers. One of the biggest reasons BP is my favorite MCU movie is that it doesn't have to be an MCU movie. It can be its own thing.

I am just worried that they will have to delay this film again and push it to 2023. Especially with all the drama around Wright and having to resume filming THIS month (doesn't give a whole lot of time for post-production to meet the November release date).
Anyway,

No clue if that site is legit or clickbait but it would probably work into the Young Avengers/Avengers: The Next Generation lol that they seem to be setting up with all the new young characters.

My thought is that they can keep the franchise going and then jump ahead many years to when the child comes of age.

Or they can go the D+ route. This project is just having all sort of problems.

Assuming T'Challa and Nakia conceived back when they hooked up a while ago, the kid could easily be in his young teens, so close to the same age as Kamala Khan and America Chavez, etc.

I'd assume the child would have been born after the first BP movie. Then they could "play" around with whether the child was born before or after the blip. If before the blip (between BP and IW) they can decide whether to have the child blip or not. Let's say he didn't and neither did Nakia. The child's existence could explain why Nakia wasn't at the final battle (to protect and hide the child).

They can factor in who did or didn't blip to make it convenient. The question them becomes how long after the first BP movie will the second one have taken place. It would be at least 5 or 6 years between BP and Endgame. Add in another couple of years before the new movie and the child could be around 10. BUT they can push the timeframe further into the future if they wanted to. There's no rule at all that says the new movie cannot be 10 years after Endgame.

If they really wanted to, they could separate the Wakandaverse from the rest of the MCU timeline and make it its own franchise. There's more than enough world building to do that. But, in all honesty, I think that WF will take place soon after Endgame. (I'd like for them to give T'challa a legacy of having ruled in peace for a significant amount of time).

Came up with an idea on how to handle the absence of T'Challa while also possibly dealing with the absence of Shuri (assuming Letitia is just too difficult to deal with and they can her). Both were "dusted". So, they could essentially have a story without either of them by having the story take place between Infinity War and Endgame.

Wakanda is in a state of confusion as the royal family has disappeared due to Thanos. Nakia and T'Challa had a son that must be protected. The snap caused a disturbance in the oceans and they have to deal with it. Atlantis rises and Namor is searching for the heir of Wakanda for some reason. Those who survived must work together to protect the son of T'Challa and Wakanda itself.

Then, they can have the next movie take place many years later when the son is about to come of age. Just simply separate Wakanda from the immediate future of the MCU and take it back when the child is old enough to join the young avengers.

Um. The actor that did an astonishing job portraying him passed away in real life.
Right, of course, I understand that. I meant that, from a storytelling standpoint, how could they justify Killmonger being resurrected. My thought, especially with the growing sentiment to recast, just scrap what they currently have and go ahead and re-do everything with a recast T'Challa. Postpone it to 2023 or later.

I’ll make the bold prediction this is DOA…

…turns out - the Star died in real life 18 months ago.
Yea, I'll be surprised if this actually works out and isn't a letdown. I really liked Chadwick as panther. But with just one movie, and a few appearances in other movies, it would have been a lot smarter to recast. Especially if your plan was to have panther as a central character like iron man or captain America were. Even Chadwicks family thinks they should recast.
