You will occasionally come in contact with Disney employees and even bus drivers who are actually well informed on what is going on with WDW and future plans etc. However most of these castmembers get the bulk of their information from sites like this and not from the company they work for.

I realize that now. Just thought I would give all the information I got. The only thing I got DEFINITELY is that an announcement about the changes of Fantasyland will happen the next few weeks. Everything we talked about IS pure speculation. She couldn't confirm anything because plans are constantly changing. I encourage people to read the ORIGINAL post. I didn't post anything that said THIS IS ALL TRUE. I know that a cast member could of gave me information that wasn't all true that's why I said take it with a grain of salt. To be rude and try to say that I'm being naive and don't know what I'm talking about. I posted a conversation I had with someone who worked at Disney. TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT AND STOP POSTING RUDE COMMENTS. And for the comment about don't post anything if I don't like rude comments....NO. I shouldn't have to deal with people being rude on the forums. If you don't believe what has been written go on to the next thread. No need to bash me. Thanks.

I still think you're missing the point. It's not that she couldn't confirm anything because things are constantly changing...she couldn't confirm anything to you because it's not her position to say anything and if she even knew anything about any of the plans of the resort, there is no way that she would be be able to share them with a random person who wrote a letter speaking their mind who also said they wanted to be an imagineer. As per your other thread, I'm suprised that legal didn't email you back saying that the company can't take any unsolicited advice or ideas about what should be done at the theme parks under full consideration.

She told me absolutely not will the Sorcerer's Hat be moved. She told me because of Legal issues there is a reason why the hat is sitting where it is.

that is why i said the hat couldn't be moved in another thread about that. but the reason i was told was because disney had an agreement with the real chinese theater to have a replica in the park, but when the agreement ended they didn't renew so they couldn't exactly tear it down because there is an attraction in there, so instead of remodeling, they had the sorcerer mickey hat there as the hub for Walt's 100th birthday that was going on throughout WDW. so they decided to leave it up and they didn't have to pay extra money to tear down the hat or remodel GMR

I see a few rude things and a lot of joking around, but most of the replies were a direct response to the information that the Cast Member gave you. Please don't be offended if someone questions your information, that's what rumor boards are about. I've posted things that are known fact like calendar changes only to have people challenge me on it.

This has been proven time and time again to be untrue. That makes no sense. It's not like you can't still see the theater, if the "agreement" had truely ended, they have to remove it compeltely.

Didn't we already clear this myth up?
Now can someone explain for me why the rooms can no longer be swapped out at the Contemporary and how they go about disassembling Cinderella castle for hurricanes.

they don't need to disassemble the castle during huricanes, Walt's frozen head which is underneath the castle keeps everything safe.

Did you even read any other part of this thread? Its been stated multiple times, as well as being stated in the site that was linked a couple pages back, that the story about licensing with Grauman's Chinese Theatre is completely false. Think about the logic here, if there truly was a licensing issue why would they simply put a hat in front of it, instead of just refurbishing the attraction and updating the facade? It just doesn't make any sense.:brick:

Even our most respected insiders(ie Lee and Raven) can't post a rumor without being flamed and put under the microscope. This is just the way the intrawebz work.

haha yeah. i wish we could put the hat rumor to rest. i know i started this whole thing but this is the first i heard about this legal urban legend. lets just bury the hatchet and say the hat isn't going anywhere.

How can you say the hat isn't going anywhere, there is no information one way or another about removing the hat.

because its kinda tiring hearing about the hat though. there are bigger things that should be done at dhs, ak, and epcot.

I think the reason people like to talk about the hat being removed is because it is the most realistic positive thing that can happen in the park. Disney has pretty much exhausted it's creativity and hasn't really offered anything new and exciting in quite a few years. The best us fans can hope for is a cleaning up of the parks and a return to their original theme. It's hard to get excited over things like food cards, merchandise shops, new sidewalks, signs, and rides that aren't really ground breaking.

yeah i know. i really think they should put some effort after the fantasyland expansion to focus on dhs. just do an overhaul and update some stuff. but i can only wish.

I really enjoyed the article. I have assumed for 10 years that the legend of a legal argument was true. I may have even spread the story myself at times. I could never figure out how Disney could spend money on something so foolish as the hat, destroying a wonderful vista in the process. I DID get the big Mickey Wand in Epcot and initially even liked it. I thought it brought excitement to the 2000 celebration. But the hat? I was ready to believe anything because it looked so silly and was placed so poorly.

I may like or dislike an attraction or change at WDW, but I have rarely wondered so greatly "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING" about something in the parks! LOL! So I guess believing the urban myth was my way of rounding up on TDO.

My other current WHAT WERE THEY THINKING question is about Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island. I've been assuming that lawyers had to be involved in that one somehow too. Are you going to burst my bubble on that? Are the BAH people responsible? Or are they just that crazy in TDO?

Inquiring minds want to know.
