This is essentially a chill spot in a park with a ton happening. Think your local park or Central Park. A spot to sit and relax, maybe with the food or beverage from a Festival booth. I'm a big fan. I do think it could use a booth or two maybe and in time I could see that.

You mean the stale 90s look; the original 80s look was great but was destroyed a long time ago.

I'm happy to have lost essentially everything that was in that area before this redo, other than the Fountain of Nations. It was awful.
Well, and the Communicore/Innoventions building if you group that in with this, but I consider that separate from the central plaza. Even if they'd kept it, though, it would have needed work to bring it closer to its original form with glass arcades etc.

Has it been shared by Disney yet what exactly is going to be at the Communicore building? I faintly remember something like a museum?? Or meet and greet for characters??

what town has a park like this?Nothing like building a town park in a park it doesn’t belong. I guess it fits with squirting fountains.

Agreed. No one wanted either version, but now we're stuck with what some college-educated engineers designed.

Oh that's great. That answers the question then to my other post that this whole central space is missing a place to get drinks and food to easily bring to sit down and hang out at the many tables and chairs lol. That sounds great actually.

Since you’re a figment fan, would you rather have had them tear up what was there before and add Moana water, lights, benches, and planters….or spend that money on a figment ride redo?
