News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Are there other people in the corporate structure to blame when it comes to failures and unwillingness to address or direct funds to fix things like this? It's easy (and fun) to blame Bob, and D'Amaro too, and I'm sure some decisions do actually run all the way up to them. But curious whether folks like Jeff Vahle or even Melissa Valiquette (current Epcot VP I think) have an ability to address these issues and are deciding it's just not a priority.
Valiquette hasn't been EPCOT's VP for a little while now, Kartika Rodriguez has been in that role since 2021.

So is that Pinar score still coming out? I bought the Fantasy Springs deluxe set and opened the booklet to see the composers and guess who's on the first page? She composed music for Epcot AND Fantasy Springs. That's pretty big!

11 years ago today. They have done so poorly, I would take this as an acceptable alternative.

I haven't been there since it opened, but I wondered about this and commented on it somewhere (probably earlier in this thread).

I was concerned about noise pollution from the singalong etc. depending on how far it carried.
We could hear “La Bamba” playing from the walkway near Test Track. We turned the corner and it was like a poor man’s cheap Las Vegas. Or Blackpool. Truly embarrassing. So tacky. So unthemed. And reaffirmed my thoughts this was a big waste of money.

And these are the people you trust to do an amazing job with the destruction of TSI, ROI, and add a new Carsland? It just doesn't seem like they have the talent at this moment to pull it off...aside from it just being a really really bad idea that doesn't fit the park thematically.

Why set up spaces to relax and unwind a moment if they are going to bombard the area with loud music?

My focus of disdain for many of WDW's bad decisions at the resort level is directed right at Jeff Vahle - who from all I can ascertain is a dollar focused, creatively vacant, Chapek(esque) leader. BUT .....at the end of the day....he is doing exactly what Josh and Bob want so its why he is in his role still. So ultimately, I continue to blame Josh and Bob for letting their most valuable asset (WDW - the company's revenue driver) get to the state its currently in.

The day we were there they had a live performer BLASTING music, very bad!

Visiting for the first time after all the walls came down, I walked onto EPCOT and I had no idea where I was but I knew I was NOT in EPCOT.

The one's who finalized Epcot's core hub as it is, is an outcry far fetch from the ones who revamped reconstructed Downtown Disney into Disney Spring's and that was the past or Iger.. Plus Disney Spring's is free!*

It looks like the result of Design By Committee and a design team that is used to urban planning, not themed entertainment. The space is overall joyless. The Flex Space building not only doesn't match the feel of the park, it looks cheap. I can only hope it was built as a temporary placeholder for something else....but we all know this isn't true. Maybe after Iger leaves the next person will have some better vision for the parks division....

Wasn't this area by Innoventions West another stage area at one point that musicians performed on? I Recall 2 times they had a choir there and a high-school band play in that area..Unless it was also used during any festivals..

Music is pretty well understood to be an important part of theming and setting a mood. There's a reason there are so many different loops in the parks.

If they took the Dinoland music loop and had it play on Main Street, would that be alright or would it be a terrible idea that ruins the atmosphere of the latter?

That's essentially what they've done for the hub and entrance to World Showcase. Except instead of "Boom boom! Shakalakalaka boom!" it's Encanto lyrics.
