News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

There are plans, yes.
This honestly feels like shocking news to me, but am happy to hear it. Spend any amount of quality time in that area and the entrance plaza and you realize just how many lighting effects are broken. There are some fundamental issues with either the lighting control system, the fixtures themselves, the wiring, or all of the above that need extensive work

The in-ground lights on the pathway to The Land from the hub (in between the Hall and JoW) are in worse shape. Where two strips meet, they're popped up and some tape is holding them in place so they don't get kicked up with foot-traffic.

The lights around the planter still light up very very faintly. They're still pushing voltage through them, but there are plenty of obvious short circuiting happen (they are low voltage DC).

The good news is that the pillar lights are working. Also, there are string lights in the tree in between the planter and Wistful Walt that are synced with the golf ball.

The planter and Communicore Hall continue to fail to meet artist concepts of what was once intended.

Four of the eight pillar lights are stuck on a bright white, not syncing with SSE, they’ve been that way for at least a month now. Half of the string lights in the trees are off too… and some of the pillar lights by Guest Relations are off too.

Don’t even get me started on the ribbon lighting in the entrance plaza, LITERALLY half of it is completely broken and off, and the fountain lighting is still flickering as it has been for months now.

I hope that once they fix the ground lighting, they have some sort of plan for better upkeep/general maintenance for all the lighting around the front of the park… currently it’s abysmal. Also, should we expect the ground lighting to actually work for more than a few days this time? @DreamfinderGuy any knowledge on this?

I'm hoping so lol. My knowledge here is admittedly somewhat limited. I'm aware that EPCOT maintenance has gotten a bit of a shakeup lately and fixing the garden lights is currently a large priority. I'd like to think they're gonna fix them properly but it gets to a point where I'm not sure what's WDI's responsibility and what's EPCOT maintenance's. Fixing may mean modifications, or it might mean just getting them back to the condition they were in in December.

TBH, I was only watching the two posts in my POV, and they were changing. Also, the lights in the tree were going on and off, chain blinking, and changing colors to match SSE. So, if there was anything wrong with them, it wasn't wrong last night.

What I meant is some of the trees that are supposed to light up simply aren’t doing so, and that’s as of me being there last night as well

Yes
I wouldn't pin it on whatever festival or event going on. It's a stage and they're gonna use it for shows. It's going to keep happening.
It'd be nice if they could quiet down for the Spaceship Earth points of light show at least. Nothing like listening to We Go On and Vivir Mi Vida at the same time (both songs I love, for the record!)
