I'd love to see Coco... in EPCOT.

Pass. The movie deserves more than an overlay over a flume with mostly no depth of scenes and no ability to host a queue.

Plus… for the millionth time I thought people really wanted new things and not more overlays and shuffling of the deck?

It can, in theory, provide a nice land with good food. Something MK could do a lot better with.

Mexico pavilion is too small to support the expected demand of what a Coco reskin to the boat ride could be.

I wouldn't say "never" but that's the reason parroted by other insiders on why the rumored overlay never happened.
Yea, I mean the other day there was a 10 minute wait in there and the line was already almost to the entrance of the pavilion. I couldn't imagine what a coco line would look like.

How difficult would it be to put it on a perpetual VQ? Like a first on first off VQ? Then when you get called you have 30-60m to return? Epcot World Showcase seems like the perfect park for this because then folks are eating and drinking at nearby pavilions ($$) while waiting for their turn to ride.

I agree, but they can talk capacity fears. That tequila bar in there is a nightmare and has created nothing but traffic havoc. I dont even understand how with fire code they got away with that, its gotten worse. The $$$ is all they care about. The pavilion can barely handle what's there now much less coco being crammed in.

I understand that Coco may be too small for the Mexico pavilion, but I hope they at least update 3 Calaberreros and give it some new tech.

Also someone said villains isn't off the table yet, do we know anything planned for the land?

Seems like there is room on the outside of the pavilion on the side to put a big queue, but that would interfere with shops and parkings spots. It affects 3rd party leases from vendors in Mexico. Plenty of room to add more boats on that track as well. If they wanted to they could make it happen.

Coco could work in Mexico if they did a Ratatouille type expansion. Current pavilion is the "real" culture, and a path around the back or side would take you into a "fictional" Mexico in Santa Cecilia. Coco deserves more representation somewhere.

Coco is never coming to EPCOT due to capacity fears.

Hm? Specifically what does that mean? "Capacity fears" is a term that could mean a number of things.

It’s really a shame because if Disney really wanted to they could. They just aren’t willing to if that’s the case. Coco really would be a great fit for World Showcase.

I get it. The ran into this issue with Frozen Ever After, except the entry was outdoors. We're thinking like a CEO who believes that a retrofit of an existing attraction is just as beneficial as a new build. Realistically though, there's a significant amount of space between Norway and Mexico. You could pick up Flight of Passage and plop it down between the two with only minor roadwork changes.

I would be happy to see Mexico expanded with a Coco attraction (even if neither of those things is my particular interest), but if there’s going to be major new infrastructure in World Showcase I would really love an entirely new pavilion— Brazil, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria are all in the top 10 most populous places in the world (many of them have amazing food that can be made tourist friendly). I personally would enjoy Australia, but might be better situated as an AK expansion theme.

I don't get people's continued obsession with trying to force Coco in Epcot. Just because it's a newer IP taking place in Mexico so it has to go there? The plan they are going for now is so much better. Coco gets its own ride designed ground up around the film's strengths in MK with a land that segues strongly with Frontierland, one of Disney's cult following series keeps its ride perfect for its size (also Cabs sell merch better than people think), Disney doesn't need to pay tons for extension queue modifications or the supposed crowds making the pavilion inoperable just for Coco to get a 80s hand me down. Everyone wins in this scenario, so I can't grasp why people are so fixated on the presumably cancelled worse scenario. Not every ride needs to be this overcrowded 1 hour wait, pavilion was never meant for that
