Best memory with a CM

A few years back when there was an E-ticket night, my DH and I were in the MK riding Space Mountain. I absolutely LOVE this ride and was as usual screaming my brains off! As we got off the ride- we were called over by a CM who was in the same car as us. He told us that he always rides SM at the end of his shift. He also told us that he really enjoyed riding with us. He got a kick out of my wild screaming! He asked us if we wanted to ride it again with him- right away. Of course, we said yes...... So he took us around the back way and we got to cut to the front of the line and ride it again with him. We had a blast! He sure made our trip extra special!

:sohappy:Thanks to all the CM who share a little magic with us every day! :sohappy:

I must tell you when I was a cast member, I worked pretty much every holiday. It always made my day when a guest took the time to just say "Thank you for being here," on those days. It's the little things that matter most to the CM's. Thanks everyone for making the 5 years I spent down there so special.

1.)
On BTMRR we rode over and over. Each time we would talk a little bit more to the same CM. Eventually it got to the point where for at least five rides in a row we were getting on without any wait at all. For the last half hour to an hour, we just completely partied. We took multiple pictures, and it was just one of those moments that for some reason we couldn't stop laughing or smiling.

2.)
For Thanksgiving dinner at the Crystal Palace, my baby sister (I use that term loosely, she was at least 18 then) was serenaded by our server. He also went on to call her Britney, before Britney was an utter insult. We laughed hilariously, and she has about 10-20 pictures of herself just completely RED with akwardness.

We have had so many great experiences with CM's over the years that it's hard to just pick one. My favorite are the CM's who can stay in step with whatever attraction they are working on...like at the Haunted Mansion.

One CM stands out. We visiting the World in 2001 for our honeymoon and decided to eat at the Garden Grill in the Land pavilion (still one of my fav's). Anyhoo, our server Albert, asked if we were celebrating anything special, and we said that we were on our honeymoon. He then proceeded to announce to the entire restaurant that he was going to perform a "Re-Hitchin' Ceremony". So, he made us stand up and he remarried us on the spot......

I loved it! He was so great. We got a certificate and everything...and this was before Magical Moments. Just proves to me that some cast members don't need a special memo to create magical moments, they just do it anyway!

(by the way, all I see anymore when I look at this picture is-look how skinny I was before I had kids!!!)

I've got a wonderful story. When Wishes had just converted to the fireworks perimeter around the castle in the MK, my husband and I had anniversary celebration ressies at Cinderella's Royal Table with my sister and her husband, on our last day before heading back to Chicago. Due to the new fireworks show, they had a lot of gliches and were running an hour behind schedule. So we dejectedly walked down the ramp to the front of the castle since we didn't want to miss the new Wishes show. We encountered a CM manager in a white shirt and tie, and my sister told him our story. Wait right here and watch Wishes, he said, and come back to CRT and ask for me, Jim. There was a mob of people waiting for Wishes, but he escorted us to just inside the rope on the ramp. THen he and an assistant came out with mini-burgers, mini-hot dogs, chicken strips and sodas while we watched. I asked Jim how we could eat at CRT when it was close to closing, and he said, we will remain open for you. We went up and had a wonderful meal and were indeed treated like royalty. We asked Jim if we should leave soon after the meal because it was the end of the night, and was closing, even the stores were closed. He said, take your time, the Magic Kingdom stays open until the last guest leaves and you will be the last guests. When we exited down to Main St, there only Security was present. THe lights were still on, the music was still on. I asked when they would turn off the music, etc., and he said, not until the last guests leave, and that is you! Talk about turning a negative into a positive!!! Jim stayed on at CRT for several years and was promoted to another Disney location, and we have followed him and go to see him every time we are in WDW. And I wrote some whopper emails to his management! Well done, Jim!!
That's amazing

reading these stories brought tears to my eyes. It makes me SOO excited to be a CM. I hope that in 2 weeks when i start working there i can atleast do one thig to make some ones trip the most magical one ever.

and i have a good CM story...

this past summer my mother and i had great experiences with CM's at the ToT in the evening before the park closed. Their names were Mike and Greg i think.. any way. we rode ToT about 5 times that night, so mike and greg pretty much rememberd us each time we came back. Mike was in the library for the pre-show. He was absoloutely HANDS DOWN the best i have ever seen. He would come up to people and just give them the creepiest looks and get really close to them. He stayed in character every single time and that just made it all the more fun.. My mom pulled him aside after like, the 4th pre show to tell him what an amazing job he was doing. He thanked her and said he had just started to work there. We were amazed, because we thought he must have been there for quite some time, he was that good. any way, then we would always go on the same line to get on Mike's elevator, because he was really good at creeping people out as well. the 4th time he told us to wait a few seconds and to not get on the elevator we were supposed to go on. so we said oh, alright.when the next elevator came, he said alright, sit where ever you want, it's all yours. we were SO excited to get our own elevator. The two of them just really made our night. Because sometimes you get "bellhops" who just.. arent so good at it lol. We love that little extra touch. So as we left that night, we asked for the managers and raved about the two boys. We will never forget them.

I'm a little concerned about your marriage. You are recommitting to each other and he has his hands in his pockets and you have your arms folded. Not the best body language.:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:I'm just going to assume the room was cold.

^that's so funny that you said that! when he was remarrying us, and asked "kiera, do you take johnny to be your husband?" I didn't answer because I wasn't paying attention. That went over like a fart in church!:ROFLOL:

But here we are 6 and half years later, 2 kids, DVC members, and 10 trips and counting!!!:sohappy:

Last summer we walked into the Magic Kingdom and there was the steam car sitting all empty and the DW and I got on. Off the driver went with just us in the car. Then the Barbershop Quartet jumped on - 2 on each side - and serenaded us all the way to the castle where we were just in time for the show. We felt so special but the great thing is that when we arrived we found that another cast member had been walking along putting Mickey Mouse stickers on our backs!!!:sohappy:

Role Reversal

While it's known that many CMs have provided guests with memories they will never forget, it does happen where guests actually make unforgettable experiences for cast members as well.

From May until earlier this month, I had the enjoyable experience of a second WDW college program. While I had many awesome guest interactions, one sticks out in my mind.

It was October 1, the day Epcot celebrated it's 25th Anniversary (one hell of an awesome day in itself). We were all out at rope drop extra early this morning, due to anticipated attendance. While 'manning the rope' before 9am, I noticed he had a 'guest of honor' badge, which read that he was Chris from New Jersey (my home state). We talked for a few minutes, had some good conversation, then he left.

About five minutes later, he comes back and asks to take a picture with me. That alone made my day, and I couldn't be happier. I thanked him for the honor of being in a photo with him, and he walked away again.

Five more minutes pass, and he hands me a postcard, with a handwritten message thanking me for helping him start the day off right. There was also a link to a website, which said 'check back shortly after Epcot25.'

I went on the website when I got home, found his email and shot him a 'thank you again' message, which he replied to. We shot some emails back and forth.

A couple weeks later I went on the website, and WHAM! there was the photo of me and Chris, and an extra thank you for keeping in touch with him.

Chris, if you are out there reading this, THANK YOU for creating a Magical Moment for a cast member!

Oh my gosh I so agree about amazing guests making a cast members day :)

I always liked to say "congrats" to couples wearing bride/groom mouse ears, but one couple came over to talk and we found out all of us were from the same state and city! They took a picture with me, and while they were on their honeymoon at the resort, they came back to EPCOT two more times and each time stopped by to say hello.

Donna and Jarred, if you're by any slim chance reading this, thanks again for making that week really cool!

On our recent trip, we were at Epcot for EMH's on 12/14 and my husband and I were in The Land debating if we wanted to do Soarin'. Seeing that the wait was a little long, we stayed upstairs and headed over to the Circle of Life. When we got there we saw that no one else was waiting and we didn't even see a CM! Just as we were heading back out, the CM re-appeared and told us the next show was going to be in like a half-hour or so. We said we might not come back just because our time was short and she was happy that we had just stopped by the theater. We ended up having such a wonderful conversation with that CM! (And I can't remember her name!) She was so nice and friendly and a great person to talk to on our last night in The World. I think for me it was so nice to someone who really enjoyed their job. We asked her if it got boring at that attraction since it wasn't as popular as Soarin.' She told us not really and she liked watching all the people downstairs hurry about. Also she said she worked on Living with the Land so it was nice to change things up from time to time.

One of my favorite things to do while at WDW is to be social with the CM's. Thank them so much for all they do and let them know that we (DH and I) are having a wonderful time. And we have a wonderful because of them. Thank you CM's! You definitely make every trip magical!

I just wanted to say, that these stories are amazing.
And I can't seem to bring myself to skip a single one.

Thank you, so much for posting them, and I want you to know, for those of you that don't realize it. That these moments, as magical as they were for you, were probably more so to the CM who shared them with you.
It really is an amazing feeling,
And..gah...man it's hard not to get a tear to your eye when saying so,
But thanks guys.
Just,
Thanks.

I don't know if the grandparent of the guest realized this was magical, but I think a princess and I made magic today. When it came time for this one girl to see the princess, Grandmother said that she had had an accident. Sure enough, stains on the pants. Well, she couldn't sit next to the princess or we would have had to shut down the line and call custodial. The little girl was not making a scene, but had tears silently pouring down her face while Grandmother was getting an autograph for her. I suggested the girl stand next to the Princess and meet her. The girl's face softened. The princess then proceeded to fawn over her and chat with her and hug her and pose for photos (that were cut off at the waist to avoid embarassment). The little girl's face was a beacon of light at that point. She walked away beaming. Here's to you princess for not shying away.
