Beastly Kingdom Discussion

FLE and Beastly are considered the "Potter killers"?

What did Epcot and DHS have?

You mean FLE and the trashed BK.

Reality is, FLE is in major spin control to put in the Mine Car. I do not believe in the phrase "Potter Killer" since up until the mine car, it was a dueling Dumbos and a 20 year too late dark ride with some extra foliage. It is getting better, but in no way a Potter Killer. Just finally a way too late replacement for 20k Leagues.

No, neither FLE nor Beastly Kingdom are/were considered Potter Killers. The Potter Killers are attractions/lands/shows that are sitting in WDI Purgatory somewhere in case management ever decides Universal is stealing too much business. Supposedly there was one such idea for each park and they are yet unannounced.

The films were kind of a let-down, I'll grant you that. Especially Prince Caspian. The film-makers changed too many things when translating the book into film, and the story suffered big-time. I realize that books always get changed when adapted to film, but it beats me why film producers don't respect prose that's stood the test of time and instead decide to rewrite lines of dialogue from the book so that they sound cheezy in the film. In the case of Narnia, it really ticked me off. If you can't improve upon something, don't mess with it!

Is this not the reason they never got the rights to the Harry Potter films or Theme Park rights in the first place. It was alleged that they wanted to condense the seven books into 2 films, I'm not sure what their plans were for a presence in the parks but JK Rowling obviously rejected them aswell.

Still it's made for several pretty interesting threads of debate on here.

I'm pretty sure Rowling wanted Disney to get the theme park rights. But she demanded that she be involved in all decision making. So, they opted out.

I sure hope these see the light of day sometime in the next ten years. We all know that Walt Disney World is an amazing resort, but is falling out of the spot as top dog. Yeah, millions of people still visit the resort every year, but look at the awesome expansions and additions being added at every other resort around the world (aside from DLP :lookaroun) and its really sad.

Off Topic: Some abbreviations seem too long to be worth it, i.e. JTTCOTE. ;)

Well, it's a lot shorter than typing out the whole name:
Journey to the "Center" of the EPCOT.

(Which, of course, would have been a slow-moving dark ride into the past, when Epcot was EPCOT Center. You'd go on an "unauthorized" field trip in the Time Rover, looking for Epcot's "Center," with the whole ride narrated by Judy Dench: "Remember how easy it was to enjoy Imagination? Thank the Dreamfinder." At the end you would get to choose one of three visions of the future of Epcot to view, by clicking a lighted panel in front of you. The whole thing would be sponsored by Delta and represented by a cool abstract logo.)

P.S. None of this post is true.

ok so there are a lot of possibilities that could happen to the parks and i feel disney needs to start acting upon them now. Beastly kingdom would be a great addition to the park and right now old rides need to be tuned up too. i feel dinosaur is in need of a revamp and maybe even a major track change because that ride is awesome but you look at audio animatronic technology now and its far more impressive then what they have on that ride....i mean that ride could really be a scary ride but its just loud as of right now!

Disney is not going to act on anything right now since FLE was announced and ACTUALLY being built.....we need to relax.
Nothing will happen for a little while especially not a "potterkiller"
Plus aren't 2 new resorts being built right now or is just AOA being built??
AK is not getting anything major for at least 3 years so lets just take a deep breath and be happy with Dwarf mine ride.....i mean FLE!!!!!!!

There is a beautiful dragon sculpted out of rocks with a water fall coming out of his mouth in a landscaped creek bed on your right side as you enter Camp Minnie & Mickey. Also the "dragon rocks" which was the name of them as you took the Discovery Boat ride when the park first opened are still there. You can see them close to the geysers as you cross the bridge going into Africa. If you look close you can see pieces of burnt armor from knights laying around the rocks. These are the only two things that remain as a tribute to the future possibility of dragons coming to AK. It is false advertisement to have the dragon in the middle of the logo for AK. I wish they would just remove it.

Neither. As I understand it, 2 years ago there was an all new Space Mountain after the 14 month refurb, with everything that is still missing, a 4th E Ticket JII and possibly another attraction for WS, the M:I Coaster for DHS as the second of a 3 phase Pixar Place, and one or two (possibly phased) attractions based on but not themed to TDS's Mysterious Island.

Mermaid was thought to be a 40th gift for this October.

Do you know what ride system would have been used for JII?

Thanks for clearing that up, the way it was worded earlier made it sound like FLE was the potter killer and BK was being saved as another one.
