Back When It Was MGM

I just remember that when the film came out, one of the local networks here tried to cash in and ran episodes of the old Dick Tracy cartoon, which didn't actually star Dick Tracy but rather a crime-fighting associate of his, who was invariably an incredibly racist caricature, like the Asian-American detective Joe Jitsu.

Yeah, these are... unfortunate.

I hate to admit this out loud to witnesses but I did not like DHS at all the first time I visited. I liked the Star Tours ride I went on and the Great Movie ride...but I refused to ride TOT and the line was too long for TSMM which was out of FP's and I only made it through half the Indy show and got bored....

I forced myself to go back. Been about 6 times to the park now and have finally gotten on TOT...and discovered Art of Animation...and been through the exhibit that has the movie about Walt...and danced with the characters at that stage a bunch this summer sweating my ...well sweating. And the park has grown on me. And seeing all these pics from movies and characters my kids grew up on in the 80's and 90's makes me wish I would have been to DHS back when it was MGM.

Thanks for sharing.

We go to HS mainly out of pity for Disney. They seriously need to figure out what to do with this park. Couldn't walk backwards there and make it last the whole day.

Archie's TV Funnies did have a Dick Tracy cartoon on and they did re-air these when the Movie came out...

Do they still have the animation academy where you learn to draw one of the characters? I really hope they do!
