Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

Web-Slingers looks "meh", definitely just another Midway Mania with hand controls instead of a blaster. Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man still looks to be better, though admittedly I haven't yet been on Web-Slingers. Worse still, there's a strong possibility that thanks to Disney's virtual queue system, I won't be able to at all to give it a proper chance/review.

I really have to wonder how Disney has managed to underwhelm me with every single Marvel attraction they've built so far. It just feels like everything they've done has been trying to cash in quickly on the franchise as the Infinity Saga drew to a close and cannibalizing whatever existing ride systems or attractions they can as quickly as they can, regardless of what the long term outcome is. The Ironman experience is just another Star Tours, Ant-Man and the Wasp turned Buzz Lightyear into a lifeless shell, Guardians robbed DCA of one of it's most appropriately thematic and wonderfully atmospheric choices (while also ruining the skyline) and now Spider-Man is effectively just a Marvel-version of an attraction that can be found in the same park, three lands over.

I hate to be so negative and I apologize for being a debby-downer. I realize that I can just avoid these things if I don't enjoy them but it's hard to not wish that something better had been done, especially if these decisions are going to continue to be absorbing attractions I do enjoy and park prices continue to increase.

I really, really hope that if the Avengers E-ticket they were planning to build gets the go-ahead post-COVID, that it's something worthwhile.

Well of course not, it’s a brand new attraction & land and we’ve just gotten back from a pandemic.. but if negative reaction & bad word of mouth grow larger and as it continues to stay open longer and we get mainly back to normal and away from the pandemic.. I expect the crowds & popularity to dwindle.
In all fairness, I'm hearing enthusiastic reviews outside of the hardcore Disney community. Raves? Nah. But enough people saying they're very interested and want to visit to check it out, and that's all that matters to Disney.

I have to hope this is just a temporary sell out until they make more up... I dunno how this works - that seems odd.

When I did Quick Service Foods at MK we would just let the Central Kitchen know we were low and they'd make up more product to send out...

Funnily enough, a good friend of mine who worked outdoor vending in DCA got laid off during COVID and never got a call back. He really loved his job and wanted it back.

He literally just messaged me that Disney just sent him an e-mail moments ago, offering him his old job back. I think the timing of the lack of food in Avengers Campus and his e-mail from Disney is just too funny.

Interestingly, for those not interested in Avengers Campus, the new land's opening may work to their advantage. Looking at the app, wait times in DCA are down across the board. The fact that the park has decreased/limited capacity combined with pretty much the entirety of that capacity now stuck in the stand-by line for entrance into this new land, means you're likely more free to enjoy the other park offerings more easily, especially in the early morning!

My review of the land from the cast preview which I got to attend thanks to a friend is now up on my site: www.mousertainment.com

Suffice it to say I love the land and adored the ride and can’t wait to go on it again! Detailed review with spoilers at link above.

Lost on the 7am virtual queue this morning - the second it went live I hit Join and submit and it immediately said already full. :(

So I’m currently in the standby line that wraps around the entire park and was told before I got into it more than half an hour ago that I likely won’t get into the land today even if I wait in the line all day. But I’m gonna try anyway. Wish me luck!
