But I always thought Deadpool liked to give “Maximum Effort”.

Exactly - minimum effort towards being about MCU things. In regards to Fox X-Men things it had rather strong efforts, IMO.

The X-Men are coming and you can't ignore that. My guess after the next couple Avenger movies, they'll pivot to an X-Men focus.
