Avatar's arrival ...

So you are saying there are no deals to be had at Uni right now? You must not be local.

Florida resident deals and "serious discounting" are two VERY different things, my friend. Serious discounting extends to everyone coming to the resort like WDW was (and still is, though to a lesser extent) with their hotels.

And guess what! WDW also has discounted local tickets! So your whole point is hogwash, though that's no different than usual.

It is entirely possible Avatar has been scaled back. The choice of the CMM plot seems to be an indicator. :

When Avatarland was announced Cameron said it would be a 12 acre area which is a perfect fit for CMM. So the CMM choice is by no means an indicator of it being scaled back.

WDW did not just add "the greatest theme park attraction in history of the the world ever" so I was shocked when Universal rolled out discounted tickets for "locals". They are even selling these "local" discounts through Wendy's in Georgia!

Sorry, TWWoHP is not the "better mouse trap". Yet. And I think the discounts will continue to spread. Universal is going to have to do more. Much more. But like I have said for awhile now, they have the potential to be a serious player in the Orlando Theme Park business. They have to be willing to invest in Orlando as TWDC is currently. I see construction everywhere I turn at WDW. :D

Sounds good as I would rather not have the scaled back version some here seem to think we are getting. :sohappy:

They didn't "roll them out" after Potter. They've ALWAYS been there. Including Georgia. So again, whatever point you're trying to make doesn't exist.

I'm done with this conversation. It's clear you're ignoring everything that's going on at Universal, and this just isn't worth it.

Oh yeah, they did just add mini-golf to CityWalk. Forgot about that. My bad.

And a night show. And a parade. And are in the process of adding a new outdoor dining/bar area to City Walk. And in the process of opening a new ride that will be almost unrecognizable from it's predecessor. And are beginning to change a land in the Studios park to bring it into modern times.

Not to mention building a new land on top of Amity's rubble.

Yup. Nothing going on over there.

I will believe it when I see it. You know how these things are always subject to change.

I'd be much more encouraged if they had of announced they were replacing the Shrek attraction. That would get my attention.

I am not excited about an Avatar land for the same reasons. I don't know if it will stand the test of time like other attractions (Star Wars). I do think some sort of Star Wars land would be amazing, not sure about AK, and would draw major crowds. Why have they not thought of this sooner, or have they? I know that DLP was supposed to be getting a small Star Wars land. Is Star Wars that popular overseas?

All that stuff you mentioned has comparable offerings in WDW. Disney switched their nighttime show Spectromagic to MSEP. Ya it's old but new to many including me. Outdoor bar is comparable to wine cellar that just opened in Epcot. Uni's new parade and nighttime show isn't even better than illuminations or disneys parades. And uni redoing the jaws area is comparable to new fantasyland.

Step away. You're being drawn into the jt vortex. It's not a good place to be. Everything is backwards, up is down, right is wrong. Cats and dogs living together. You'll have a harder time getting out than Carol Ann did in Poltergeist.

To some people, up will ALWAYS be down... Even when they know down is really down... But admitting that would mean admitting they were wrong. Thus, up is down.

See? It all makes sense.

Sort of like when you have a cold so you go to a party store to inquire about a meatball sub and you find out that Steve did not wear his shoes.:lookaroun

"New to me" doesn't change the fact that the parade is decades old. Universal's show is completely new, showcasing technology never seen before in a show.

Outdoor bar is comparable to wine cellar that just opened in Epcot.

No, it's not. It's comparable to the barren wasteland that is Pleasure Island. City Walk doesn't require park admission to enter, and is adding the decks and just added the mini-golf. Tutto Gusto does require theme park admission to enjoy. (Tutto Gusto is a good addition, though)

Uni's new parade and nighttime show isn't even better than illuminations or disneys parades.

Subjective. I haven't seen the parade live, but from videos it looks better than the Mk and the DHS parades.

I'd take the night show over Wishes and Fantasmic, and say it's on par with Illuminations.

And uni redoing the jaws area is comparable to new fantasyland.

Debatable. WWoHP Redux will push themed attractions further again. FLE, while nice, is playing it safe. Not to mention the other plans Uni h/Comcastave up their sleeves.

Except any explanations from you about what I got wrong.

Georgia is not "local".

Uni is not yet in Disney's league.

Sea World likely will be and soon.

AvatarLand is on the way to DAK.

The old 20K attraction is 'down'.

The LM show building is going 'up'.

All provable facts in the vortex of truth.

Everything like that is relative in terminology.

Uni is not yet in Disney's league.

WDW is not even in Disney's league. So We can be happy about that
Sea World likely will be and soon.

AvatarLand is on the way to DAK.

Yep...still...on its way. As in still being planned out and sitll being worked on but still nothing is definite until it is happened. That is just the nature of the beast in the entertainment/service industry

The old 20K attraction is 'down'.

Glad you are reporting the up and up on the news

The LM show building is going 'up'.

Yep, although it is more up than going up

All provable facts in the vortex of truth.

Truth is another relative term.

There we go.
